Belongs in the classic, but I'd rather bring the discussion to a wider base. So, I'm rewatching the fight (the Sky Sports version) and both the commentators seem to be in agreement that no doubt McCallum won the round and that he was unquestionably ahead in the bout:huh. I happen to be in disagreement, as I felt it was a clear Toney round as he frequently found target with the right hand. Absolute terrific display of boxing by both men. I also thought the bout was even at this point with Toney possibly having a one point lead after the 6th. It was also the point where Toney started to kick it into extra gear. Thoughts??? I thought it a close but clear round for McCallum. Toney landed some good counter rights, but the same can be said of McCallum, who also landed a lot more with the left and had the more efficient workrate. I thought that was the story of the bout up until the later rounds when Toney started to turn it up a notch, as you said. I had Toney winning the bout by a single point thanks to his late round surge. Last time I scored it anyway.
British commentators always had a soft spot and a certain amount of bias for McCallum. Not that i've watched the round again, mind you.
Close round. But I gave it to Toney. But again, it was close. McCallum landed the jab nicely, and some rights. But Toney seemed to land the more effective punches.
Who gives a **** anyway,it was 14 years ago. It was a very competitive fight,Toney won it by late flurry.
****ing americans and toney, he is a steaming pile of wank, overrated beyond belief, you couldn't get the fat useless ****'s mouth to weigh in at 160 nowadays
