I just re-watched the fight without my wife near so I could fully enjoy it (she always gets a bit concerned that if I show too much excitement that I'll do something crazy like step back in there)

Round 7 and Round 8 - Hopkins was just absolutely dominant, he actually reminded me of Joe Calzaghe due to the way he was rolling the shoulders, showboating, hitting at will, throwing the slip punches and it was just amazing to see this version of Hopkins.

Hopkins has proven all of my points about modern nutrition, training and technology in that 43 is not an old age for him anymore. The same as we see guys like Calzaghe at 36 still dominating younger fighters.

There will be people who discredit Hopkins for the rest of his life, such is the nature of the man. People will also discredit Calzaghe for winning "close" against Hopkins, fact is, he won - and like everyone eluded too, it was because Hopkins couldn't stop him throwing unlike every other fighter he's fought.

Personally would love to see Jones Jr vs Hopkins and I think it has a real chance of happening, Jones Jr will be the most fired up he's ever been in my view to take on this fight.
