Im no F-ING troll Butt. Ive been here long enough to know better. but some call what he did circling i called it running.

PBF traded more with Dela Hoya and how many complained about that fight.

It got shocking towards the end.

He's a boxer not a brawler. He uses his speed to win his fight. Why should he stay in the pocket the whole fight and not use his skills?

YES IT IS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Because Soto is a pressure fighter, ie he's supposed to specialize in cutting off the ring which means if a guy circles you, you take the shortest path between two points, a straight line, and you find him. That's your task as a pressure fighter when you face a faster, slicker fighter. A for effort, but Soto did not have the tools - he failed his task.

Call it what you want. He landed more...period. And he traded often.

Guzman clearly got tired. I think he knew he couldn't keep up the required pace.

I would expect Soto fans to be bitter about the way Guzman fought but the fact of the matter is Guzman landed far more and cleaner punches. Soto was just contented to follow him around the ring like a zombie, even when he got Guzman on the ropes he is not throwing enough punches let alone landing them.

I did not complain about that fight. It was as expected. The disparity in speed and skill between Guzman and Soto is MUCH greater than was that between Mayweather and DLH. If Soto fought an opponent 10x slower than him and boxed beautifully against them, throwing tons of punches, exchanging at times and avoiding damage at others - would you hurl the same criticisms at him?

All you bitches whining, we get it. You prefer Soto's style to Guzman. Fine. That doesn't mean that the way Guzman fought wasn't a perfectly valid and respectable way to win a fight, requiring more skill, focus, and determination than the way Soto fought.

Again, I'll say. Preferring a style = subjective. Judging a fight = objective. Keep 'em separate. Circling & countering at the end of an opponent's range is what EVERY trainer would tell any athletically gifted fighter - it's the definition of perfect boxing. Stop complaining just because the likable pressure fighter lost. I like Humberto alot too. His style is exciting. He just had circles literally boxed around him. He got his face painted. He tagged Guzman a few times throughout the fight and nothing ever made me think he had a chance of scoring a KO (which was obviously his only chance for victory as he wasn't going to outland Guzman). Let it go.

Thats not his style. Even if he did get the better of it or he got the worst he shouldn't fight outside of his style espically when the other guy strengh is the brawler style. I think he fought a smart fight.

I'm a boxing fan. Fight was fine for me. Good showing of clashing styles and two guys who were good at applying them.

Im not here saying i dont give credit were credit is due. Guzman won and ive got no problem with that but its these type of fights that push more fans away than gets fans interested in our beautiful sport.

Good win for Guzman but not such a great veiwing fight in general.

Sorry but some of you have no idea about boxing if you think the idea is to stand around and brawl and get hit. If you have got the skills to punch and move do it, if you haven't and your facing a guy that has you need to draw him into a brawl or be relentless.

Any idiot can stay there and just get hit in the face. You need to have speed, quickness, and great footwork to be a boxer. Remember the name in the game is hit and and not get hit.

Im one of the more knowledgable fans on this site.

I just know a bad thing for boxing when i see it. It might have been a great fight for some but if you and boxing journos are trying to get more interest from outsiders in our sport this is not a fight you show to the average fight fan.

    I know that much.

Ask anyone when was the peak of people just average fans interested in boxing. It was when Tyson was around he bought more fans to this sport than anyone.

I doubt Joan Guzman is going to regnite average fans back to watch the fight game.

You mighten think i know much but i know that much.
Why do you think Gatti was so popular. You can say that im dont know boxing but you be suprissed how much this Aussie knows about sport.
