Let's say the fighters below all had to face eachother 2 times. Let's say that are all at their 140 best. How do you see them doing against each and where would they end up from a overall ranking perspective: Napoles Pryor Chavez Tszyu
Napoles 6-0 Pryor/Chavez split with each other 3-3 Tszyu 0-6 it would take his best effort for me to believe he could take anyone of these But Hatton goes 3-1 against them losing to Napoles
One thing's for sure (for my money, at least!): Tszyu comes bottom of the pile. Against guys who backed off and tried to box, he was good at building up a rhythm and dictating terms. None of these guys, who all liked fighting at close quarters and being the aggressor, are going to give him that luxury, and they're just a class above him in any case. I can't see him winning any here. Provided Napoles' eyebrows hold out, I think he comes out on top. With his nasty streak, incredible mid-range boxing ability and tight defence, I think he's too good for Julio and could replicate what Randall did to him first time out. Comfortable decision for Napoles in this one. Closer against Pryor, as Aaron had a bit more raw speed than Chavez. But if Pryor can't get Napoles on the backfoot, I think he's in for a long night. Over a series I could see Pryor stopping Napoles on cuts now and then, or maybe even winning the odd contested decision here and there, but overall I favour the Cuban on points in a thrilling battle. So that leaves Chavez versus Pryor. What a war this would be. I'd slightly favour Pryor's outright punch power at 140 over Chavez's and I think he's got an advantage on the outside for the (probably rare) distance exchanges. Pryor by close-ish decision more often than not, although I think he could possibly stop Chavez late, too. I think they all beat Tszyu inside-schedule most of the time. So, 1) Napoles 2) Pryor 3) Chavez 4) Tszyu
Chavez Tszyu Napo Pryor Julio and Kostya are criminally underrated. And I've been watching boxing since 1954.
??? You'll have to explain this "alot of bums". He lost a grand total of 7 fights in his total career. 4 of them before moving to 147. 2 of them - LC Morgan and Alfredo Urbina - were world class opponents. The other two were early career losses. Are these two the "alot of bums" you were referring to?
Kosta gets zero love in this section. Phenomenal amateur & professional. That missile of a right is getting severely overlooked here.
Who ever KO'd Chavez? That chin wasn't even slightly dented until 91 fights in. The danger of being KO'd is on Aaron's side of the ledger.
Napoles vs. Chavez would be the decider. I’ve gotta’ take Napoles. Anyway, the correct answer might actually be Barney Ross to be honest.
