I think the WBA has taken out the even round in a title fight.Haven't heard the same from the other sanctioning bodies.
I think there should be more use of an even round - and 10-8 rounds for clear dominance. Sky and Setanta often score even rounds, whilst Lederman must have it in his contract that he can't. It just doesn't happen! The WBA might have taken them out after Lewis vs Holyfield - would be the only way anyone could score the fight either a draw or in Holy's favour.
According to IBF championship rules (UNIFORM CHAMPIONSHIP RULES): 4. The 10 Points Must System will be standard system of scoring a bout. Not a word about draw rounds. But the bout rules of IBF say: There will be a non-scoring referee and three judges who shall score the contest and determine the winner through the use of the ten points must system. In this system the winner of each round receives ten points and the opponent a proportionately less number. When the round is even, each boxer will receive ten points. The bout rules (Rules for IBF, USBA & Intercontinental Championship and Elimination Bouts) say that can be a draw. My question can be silly, but correct me if I'm wrong: Are the championship rules (scoring of a round) are over the bout rules (there can be a adraw) in a IBF championship fight?
