I thought the same when I watched the fight. I wanted Holm to win because I think Rousey was too ****y, and she kicked the snot out of her.

Floyd basically avoided a fight against Manny; out of the ring for years and in the ring for 36 minutes. At least the two MMA women tried to prove who was superior, and brought it.

I have been a boxing fan for 40 years, and there are less and less fights that excite me, that's for sure.

An idiot like yourself probably thinks that Mayweather is the baddest man on the planet.

Face it: Manny had a dodgy shoulder and Floyd was on his bike the whole fight. How was that more ENTERTAINING than what happened at the weekend?

Holms pretty much outboxed this girl (yes she threw a couple of kicks but 90% of that performance was boxing) your p4p #1 just got SCHOOLED by a boxer think about it man... Take any MMA fighter, give him 4 or 5 years or whatever in boxing training and he still ain't beating p4p #1 boxer. EVER.

MMA is to boxing what an electrician is to an electrical engineer.

And? Give any Boxer 5 years and put them in against a complete MMA'er and they'd still lose.

If we're talking about an MMA'er who has elite takedowns, striking (for MMA, it's a lot harder than what you think it is due to different ranges etc), a Boxer stands no chance.

Look at the two best boxers ion the world today: May & Ward. Their styles DO NOT translate well to a real fight.

Then who just beat your p4p #4?

Before you come back at me with she isn't, this is the archive of the official UFC p4p list before the Holms fight.

    https://web.archive.org/web/20151106014602/http://www.ufc.com/rankings?id=

Edit: I realise my mistake, she wasn't ranked p4p #1, still p4p #4 is high enough.

How did she beat her, though? The fight ended with a kick and hammer fists.

You're not naive enough to think that Floyd could have came in and cleaned up the equivalent of his division in the UFC, do you?

90% of it was boxing though, that kick was just a formality she could have finished her any way she wanted to, Ronda was done after the punches she took in the first round and her not having the stamina anywhere near comparable to that of a boxer such as Holms (who is actually older than her).

As I said, she did Kickboxing/MMA for 5 years and she beat one of the best fighters in the UFC, this would not happen the other way round even if you gave an MMA guy a decade of training.

And if Holms has done it, I don't see why anybody else can't. Klitschko with 5 years of MMA training probably beats Cain with ease like Holms did Rousey.

Boxing, in the traditional sense, is useless (range-wise) for MMA. She was using her hands, but at a different range. She was also throwing kicks.
