He never did want a rematch with Roy. Even a greatly deteriorated Roy is a bad matchup for Bernard.

I know but too many here just cling on to the Jones is ''shot'' anyways therefore why fight him...

Bernard knows it very well but he can't admit it....
On the other hand Jones would feel the same way as Bernard if it was Calzaghe offering him winner takes all, etc..

Hopkins vs Adamek or Dawson would be a lesser money fight, but by that same token, Hopkins would clearly get the lion's share of the purse in either matchup so it probably more than evens out.

And beating Roy means nothing in the scheme of things for Hopkins except getting some revenge on the shell of RJJ. Roy is a shot fighter, which has been demonstrated in every relevant matchup he's had since getting KOd by Tarver. He can still look spectacular against lower level opposition like Lacy, but there is no doubt in my mind(and in the eyes of most) that any solid opposition will do a number on him, including Hopkins. For legacy, a fight with Adamek or Dawson has a lot more meaning, and B-Hop can probably get 70-30 with either fight.

60 to the winner 40 to the loser is fair to me.
Fact still remains RJ did beat Bernard. RJ even till this day is still the bigger star.
I mean its not like Roy is demanding 60% of the pot. If you believe in your ability then its time to put up or shut up. But the money issue is 4ever going to be a problem wit them

So Roy Jones beats up a couple of fighters that are more shot than him and suddenly thinks he's worth as much as Bernard? 60/40 for Bernard to give this has been a rematch is more than fair. I thought Roy was going to fight Green for the IBO **** strap anyway. Obviously he realises no one's interested in that fight and is suddenly talking smack about Bernard again. Maybe someone should remind Roy who they've both been beating recently and who's been embarrassed and put to sleep.

That's the wrong way of looking at it. You have to put yourself in the mindset of Bernard. He would take it as a total insult that Roy thinks he can still make these kinds of demands when we know how shot he is. To me, this is just a load of big talk from a man looking to make one last pay day. Jones can posture in front of shot fighters all he likes but I doubt very much he'll last the distance with Bernard, never mind win.

If Hopkins is so confident he'll win then what Roy is offering is the same damn 60/40 Hopkins wants. Plus I don't care what Hopkins does, he'll never be a bigger star than Roy.

It's got nothing to do with confidence. Do you think Floyd would take that kind of a deal? Your opinion on who has the better star quality is irrelevant. Too many idiots on this forum have short memories that seem to have been fooled by Jones beating on a couple of shot fighters. Roy has done nothing recently to be able to make any demands on Bernard.

Roy's trying to mouth off for one last payday, and I can understand that, but the meaningful matches are between Hopkins and the Dawson/Johnson winner or Adamek. Would Roy be willing to fight any of these guys? Would anyone give him a chance against them? What credit would Hopkins get for beating Jones?

Surely no one wants to see a continuation of this pathetic seniors tour, let Roy get on with his IBO exhibition and match Hopkins up with a more deserving fighter. Please.

If Jones is that shot then why don't Hops avenge his loss by beating Roy and taking the 60%?

Maybe because he'd get **** all credit for doing so. What's more meaningful, giving Dawson his first loss or winning a genuine cruiserweight title or giving another beatdown to someone Calzaghe beat **** into less than a year ago?
