Maybe you need read again what I wrote then...
Little because of these main 2 reasons :

1- Calzaghe himself said he wouldn't want to fight a shell of Jones because it wasn't worth it (his book)
2- Amost everyone here, boxing fans and analysts, writers, etc. thought Calzaghe would win that one at that point in their respective careers.

I understand your reasons for saying that Dan-b, but its easier for Hops to deal with and make a plan to beat the Adamek style, rather than the unpredictable, unorthodox, instinctive style of Jones, even at this stage of his career... Why ? because that style is still combined with enough speed to make him a real problem for Hops...legs or no legs !

This is, from many points of view, a great finishing fight for Bernard.

He says Roy is shot, so that means he is pretty confident of beating him.

While he has lost four significant fights (we won't count his first outing at pro), he CLAIMS to have only ever lost one of those fights, to Roy.

Here is a chance to avenge what is, in BHop's miind, his only real loss.

He ducked a rematch for years. When I say ducked, I'm not saying he was scared. Just greedy.

Roy was the bigger name for all of that time and had already beaten him. Bernard wasn't a big name till 2002. It was Bernard who 'needed' the rematch, so Roy was entitled to the bigger purse share.

(Bernard wasn't the best businessman out there, befor he linked up with GBP !)

Now, he has the opportunity to pick up 60% of the purse ( a real PRIZE fight that we should see more of).

And he turns it down ?

If he's to have any credibility in the Roy-Bernard issue, he needs to take this fight.

Folks have been hoping for it for years, and this is the first time Bernard would be the favourite to win. (Slight favourite, IMO).

Bernard can go out in style, with the lion's share of a decent purse, and avenge what he says is his only real loss.

IF he gives it a pass, it will be obvious to all who ducked who here.

^ Isn't Jones slated to fight Green anyway? What's the earliest this fight could happen?

It's highly unlikely Bernard can beat Adamek.

Adamek is not as skilled as Calzaghe, but he's much bigger and stronger and finishes strong. Bernard can't keep him off and doesn't have the legs to run.

Late stoppage is the most likely outcome here.

Does he want to get knocked out by a white boy ?

Jones should fight Green end of November and even there..Green has real power and is no walk in the park either... Spring 2010 Hopkins-Jones II on HBO !!

Money talks and the ball is in B-Hops' camp to avenge a loss and rake in the bacon !

Adamek is, essentially, a big light heavy. He brings a lot of pressure, but is very one dimensional. Whether or not you think he can win is besides the point anyway. Hopkins thinks he can win and it's fight HBO are interested in. It's also a possibility for Hopkins to win a third, legitimate, title.
