Sad to see Jones struggling on, and we probably won't have to after tonight. In the alphabet soup era, there is a lot of debate about who has legacy, who is atg, etc. I tend to go light on guys becasue its so hard to get the fights, but if there is one guy for whom there is no question, its Roy Jones Jr. Prime BHop, prime Toney, and a heavyweight title to boot. We might not see the likes of a record like that again.

Roy did his thing when he had it, but damn, what a fall from grace he has suffered in the last few years. If it wasn't for his chin, Jones could easily be top 20 ATG
lol I don't know how Jones looked so good in the fifth round against tarver 3. He almost even knocked him down.
That round was Roy Jones last hurrah, so to speak. Lovely work to the body, and those uppercuts were beautiful.
I know this video is unrelated but listen to Larry Merchant at around 2:50. Larry's words "Alton Merkerson has said Roy Jones has gotten old and you could see it he was throwing one punch at a time" I never heard Alton say that before, do you know if he said that before the fight even started or did Alton say that when Jones got knocked out? If only Jones had kept that up in the 3rd Tarver fight. It would have been perfect redemption...but sadly it's not to be.
there never was or will be another like him. no one was as athletic as Jones. the way he pulled off that showboating bull**** was amazing, the devestating power, the way he easily beat Toney and B-Hop, the unreal reflexes and speed he shoulda retired after beating Ruiz at that point people thought he was invincible
:rofl Now it's all down to his "chin," even though he was stopped on punches to the side/rear of his skull by Johnson and Green... Even though it was his CONFIDENCE that went with the first Tarver KO... The concept of boxing being "90% mental" is completely lost on the fans. Utterly.
Jones had an amazing career, even more amazing skills, superhuman reflexes and speed, even better personality. Roy is my hero......i hope he retires for good now and focuses on commentating, he was also great at it. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GoCOg8ZzUfg&feature=related[/ame]
