Larry said it too timely for Alton to have said it after Roy got knocked out, he must have said it before.
no other fighter has captured my imagination like roy did, its been an absolute pleasure following his career & watching him make history. i feel privilaged because fighters like roy do not come around that often & im just glad he did while i was growing up...
Roy got me into boxing, I have always risen and fallen with him........Fantastic boxer, great person and father will always love Roy Jones Jr......
Sad sight tonight. I hope Jones does not have a problem with his health. I wanted Jones to win. I want to see Hopkins/Jones rematch very badly.
I remember Roy Jones as he was in his prime. His losses at the age of 40 years detracts nothing from his legacy in my view.
Omar Sheika, Felix Trinidad at 170, Anthony Hanshaw, Prince Badi Ajamu, Derrick Harmon, David Telesco, Richard Frazier, Lou Del Valle, Bryant Brannon, Merqui Sosa, Antoine Byrd, Danny Garcia. Why should anyone appreciate those wins? Half of them were defenses of some alphabet title, im sorry but Roy Jones had the potential to be on of the greatest boxers ever. But beating C and D level fighters for most of your career does not gurantee greatness Also I think everyone is glosing over the illegal substances Jones used, and his subsequent decline after being caught
Ridiculous. Prime James Toney, prime BHop, and a heavyweight title to boot. There is no denying his greatness. It is not a question.
Again, this is ridiculous. I have always shown respect to Calzaghe, and he has his own legacy. But trying to bring down a man like Roy Jones to build up Calzaghe is silly and futile.
Enjoy retirement Roy regardless of what some may say you had the balls to step in the ring and become something...everyone has to lose sometime...thanks for the memories...
