How would Jones have fared as a late 90's and early 2000's heavyweight? Basically, the time that Jones pissed away his career at LHW. The classic 190 pound CW limit exists, so Jones can weigh in wherever he'd like from 176 to 190. How does he fare fighting at this weight consistently for, say, 7 years or so? 96' to 03' when he fought Ruiz. Jones was such an enigma, so untouchable at his best that a multitude of HW matches were discussed and even negoiated over. Buster Douglas, Lennox Lewis, Tyson, Byrd... So on and so forth. How does he do against this generation of Heavies, from journeymen to the elite? I personally feel he would have beaten the **** out of a old Holyfield, say the Evander from the time of the Byrd and Toney fights. Can't forget that Chris Byrd stopped Jimmy Thunder. I think the amount of decent heavyweights Jones could make a dent in with his punching power would be suprising.
