Foreman took 10 years off. He had some of the greatest power of all time to fall back on.

Roy Jones is a reflex fighter. His reflexes are gone. Completely gone. They don't come back. He does not have the skills to be a legit champion again.

I hate to say it, but his speech is even showing some signs of not being what it was.

The thing about it is that Roy always said he wouldn't be that guy who fought too long. Now he's that guy.

that first Tarver win was pretty damn suspect. Either way, Roy's done, at least as far as being an elite fighter.

Roy is not shot. Ever since the shocking KO loss to tarver, he's confidence has hit all time low but judging by the way he fought in thr 3rd tarver fight, ajamu, and hanshaw, roy is definitely not shot. Sure, he's obviously not the same fighter from the 90s but he still has his hand speed, decent reflex, and power. His power and speed didn't go anywhere that's for sure.

LOL c'mon bro, calzaghe isn't going to seriously hurt Jones. That's just crazy.

It's a shame what happened to Roy Jones. I don't buy into all the steroid conspiracy theories I just think he made a big mistake by going up to heavyweight & then coming back down again. He should have either stayed at 175 & maybe fought a rematch with Hopkins or retired after the Ruiz fight. There was even talk of him fighting Lennox Lewis which would have been fascinating & a great spectacle.

Theres no way such a great champ should feel the need to prove himself again & risk further losses. I, unfortunately, disagree with some of the other posters on here & don't think Roy could beat Calzaghe or Hopkins now. Five years ago, however, it could have been a different story.

It will be interesting to see how he looks against Tito & I think he should win but I just hope he doesn't hang around to long & get KO'd again. The Johnson KO was a horrible one & he was on the floor for a long time & I really don't want to see that happen to Jones again.

Hurt? By Calzaghe, the man without any punching power? :think

This constant sniping at Calzaghe is beyond boring now.

I disagree about a few things. RJJ still has blazing hand speed but what he's lost is some of his reflexes and his legs. That prevents him from getting out of the way of punches and from being more active. So he has to be selective with his punches. But he can still light it up when he throws. That was never an issue. The issue with him was his heart. Even in Tarver 3, RJJ looked like he could actually hurt Tarver when he let his hands go in rounds 4 and 5. But his lack of heart got the better of him and he put his guns back in the holster for the rest of the fight.

If he can forget about his KOs and fights with confidence again, i still think he's got the talent to do some good things, even against "elite" LHW's. The only question is his chin. Were his KOs the instance of fighting too closely between fights or is his chin tarnished forever? So his furture success relies on two things: How much heart he has left and how well he can take a shot. But the talent is still there.

His speech has me very concerned. If Benitez can end up marbled, anyone can. Roy has now suffered two serious concussions and obviously has lost his legs. He's finished and should have retired years ago. He's a shell of his former self now.

Is his speech seriously that bad? If thats true that really is a concern. As I said previously the Johnson KO was a horrible one & I really don't want to see that happen to him again.

His speech is not bad. That's just the way he talks. I have no clue what people are talking about.

Good. I honestly didn't know because I haven't really heard him speak in a while. I did briefly hear him speak on the Don King pod cast announcing the fight & he sounded okay then.
