During the Foreman-Cotto Yankee Stadium presser just now, Ross Greenburg from HBO mentioned that Roy Jones will be ringside for the fight, presumably because Manny Steward is training Cotto. It's interesting that they would bring Roy back instead of Kellerman.
As a commentator he's understandable (english 1st foreign language) In some of his interviews it's hard though.
I'll never forget him calling that Ike Quartey would be knocked down by Verno Phillips not more than thirty seconds before Phillips dropped Quartey. The man is an outstanding commentator.
Hmmn. Now that I think about it...Greenburg mentioned when he first came on that Larry Merchant would not be working the fight, but will be doing a special segment on the history of fights at Yankee Stadium. So with Manny training Cotto, it'll likely be Lampley, Roy, and Kellerman on the call.
Jones' knowledge is amazing but the problem is his articulation sucks. He's got a thick accent. But he's still the best. Better than Steward, Lewis, or Foreman. And much better than Kellerman in that position. Only one who matches up is Tarver.
