The biggest challenge Roy Jones has to face and is facing right now is himself, he has the haunted look of a man who is struggling to overcome the fact that he is no longer the boxing icon who many fight fans thought was irrepressible and unbeatable during his day. After being top of the tree it must be so hard for any fighter to come to terms with their decline especially in the face of devastating knockouts and he has obviously never got over these. Maybe he had those doubts even before he was knocked out anyway, he seems too nice a guy for is own good sometimes I think! The thing is, this guy has had an unbelieveable career yet I bet he only sees the losses now and not the amazing achievements that he achieved during his career. If he doesn't quit now he will become a pathetic, sad figure and a laughing stock and that would be very sad to see!
After the Calzaghe fight he did come across as somewhat a pathetic sad figure. He really needs to retire now. He is coming off as one of those boxers, who does not know when to quit.
Roy had his chance to unleash his pain in the ring against Calzaghe. He even said himself he had nothing to lose, and he still failed to let it all hang out. He definately needs to sit down.
