This would be the biggest PPV event of the year. And possibly be a decent match for a while.

In a boxing match, Roy Jones would win this easily.

    Jones by slaughter.

Shot or not, this is a man groomed since his teens to fight under these specified conditions, and was a phenom. For a non-boxer to call him out like this is almost disrespectful to the craft.

I know Silva. He's nuts. Almost oblivious to pain. Tough, hard man. But the match would be unfair to him -- a professional against an athletic part-timer.

It would be interesting to see, but by no means is Jones the #1 pound for pound as they claim. He was for a looong time, but those days are long gone. He showed flashes of greatness against Tito, just like Ali did for a few rounds against Shavers, but that doesn't make him any less shot...

Jones should win but obviously you haven't seen Silva fight. An athletic part timer?! He is one of the best athletes in the world. Jones could get knocked out by this man.

They only way Silva could beat him is through grappling but in a boxing match no chance mate

i dont see why he wouldnt have a chance... he is a very good fighter, has boxing training, is in his prime, ect, ect.

Roy is faded... beating a former WW and a natural 154lber doesnt change that.

I'd love to see this. Roy would toy with this chump!

Andersen is a tall (6'2) slick southpaw. RJJ had problems with southpaws before in his prime, he will have more problems now that he lost his speed.

I sincerely hope that this will blow off but if it does happen, I hope RJJ does his homework and watch some tapes of this guy because Andersen does have skills that can translate over to boxing.

Under boxing rules, RJJ destroys and toys with Silva. But in a MMA match, RJJ becomes Silva's *****.

i would give Silva a good chance. Remember Silva is the best striker in mma and if he is to fight Roy he would be training only in his boxing making it better than it already is

I almost can't believe any of you would say Silva has a chance, I've heard some stupid things of this board but that is easily the worst. Jones would either toy with him and then proceed to killing him or just go right out and do it. Have you seen boxers hand speed compared to MMA fighters handspeed, and Roy is unbelievable fast. It would be like Calzaghe vs. Lacy compacted into one round before Silva is a drooling mess.

The fight will prove that anderson silva is a technical mma fighter! Which he doesn't need to prove because anyone that watches his fights knows that...He is the most technical MMA fighter out there. Thats why he is whooping all his counterparts asses. ... He isn't nice enough with his hands to beat roy though. He needs those knees and kicks to be fully effective.
