This is the truth. In a boxing match, Silva would make it interesting for a round or so, then get beaten pretty easily. But in an MMA fight....Silva is a dangerous SOB.

I know alot of you hate MMA, but if you're ever going to watch an MMA fighter, this is the guy. He strikes like a monster....can use his legs and knees like a boxer uses his hands from the standing posiition (exaggeration for emphasis, but he can kick and punch relentlessly and accurately) and rarely fights on the ground.

What a joke, Silva is a good striker in the UFC, but that's like saying Randy Moss is a good basketball player, just because the played college ball and was a decent player, can he beat the average guy in pick up game? Most definitely, can he stop Kobe from scoring or actually score on him consistantly? Not a chance in the world.

As a fighter Silva will kill Roy Jones in the ring.
but purely boxing Id still have to go with Roy at this stage..even though Silva could possibly have the best boxing in MMA currently

Im a big fan of Anderson Silva, but this would be a big mistake by him. I dont care how good or technical he thinks his boxing is, Roy would embarass him.

As a fighter in general...he is the type of MMA fighter you would want nothing to do with in a brawl or bar fight.

His hands are great for an MMA fighter, a step above Liddel who was known for striking.

agreed Silva punches straight..he just lack the KO power of Chuck.

In a standup I think Silva will eat Chuck up

Easily. Not sure his power isn't nearly as great as Liddel's, he at least drops people regularly. But his leg strikes are insane.

Either way, Jones would beat him in a boxing match. Even at this age.

Anderson is the best striker in MMA, and actually a pretty good boxer by most standards, but he concentrates mostly on picking his opponents off with his boxing, not really worrying about the in-coming, which would be big trouble against Jones. In an MMA or kickboxing/muay thai match, he'd murder Roy, but in boxing, he'd get his ass whooped.

His hands are very accurate and sharp, and deceptively powerful. It's his defense that would be the problem against a top notch boxer, as he often takes the shots to land his, seems to have no problems taking one coming in to land his, because his are so much more effective. Very technical with his punches, but open.
