He'd beat him in a pure striking match as well, just not a boxing match.

Silva would have a puncher's chance.

Is Cousy still playing? Or did he retire a longer amount of time ago than Jones was born?

The fight won't go through, so who really cares?

Silva likes being on his back and Roy will keep him there.

Silva had a professional boxing fight and lost by KO to some no name in Brazil. If he fought a top 50 boxer, he'd get his ass whooped.

Now under MMA rules, that's a completely different story.

“UFC is the best fighting the best and that’s what boxing has to do. If you are an ultimate fighter, you are going to fight someone who is going to fight. In UFC, if you lose to a good fighter, you lost, you still know you are good fighter, and you come back the next day and fight again. In boxing, if you lose and that's it. You are done. I lose a few fights, they want to tell me I'm washed up and I don't have it no more." (Roy Jones)

I found this to be an interesting comment. A loss is not nearly as big a deal in MMA. I believe it makes for more interesting matchups because fighters aren't nearly as protective of the OH. Are the fans, like a lot of folks on this board, responsible for not seeing the fights they want because of it? Are we (fans) our own worst enemy?
