After watching the Del Valle knockdown again it looks like Del Valle banged his head against Roy's jaw for a second after the punch as well. Maybe he didn't or maybe he did can't really tell.
Does anyone knows what song from 7.00 and forward, the song played when he faced Tarver the first time.
:rofl In the first Tarver fight he took more flush shots in that fight than he did when he was KO ED. The Johnson KO came from a barrage of punches that was not a solo shot that KO ed him ..he took a beating for 9 rds .. And the Green Punch was a combination of 2 things ,5 layers of guaze and a punch to the back of the head .. Whats missing from this video is the Toney fight .He took some hilasious shots from Lights Out ..Jones beard was solid ..It only diminsih with his weight drain and age !! Funny that for all the people who say Jones has a glass Jaw are usually the ones who can use his 3 KO 's what happened in his 48 other fights ?
Imperial1, great points. He absolutely took some big counters by Toney in their fight....and to your point, he took some MURDEROUS punches from Tarver in their 1st fight (please, just watch the 2nd round when he is against the ropes, nevermind when Tarver caught him bad in the 10th and wobbled him). The bottom line is, NOW, yes, his chin, and just about everything else except for his handspeed, has deteriorated. I think most can agree on that. But this also highlights that during his prime, the last thing he had was a glass jaw, not saying he had the best punch resistance, but average at the very least. Now, as far as the quality of opposition he faced for certain stretches of his career, that can be debated Again, well made video
I thought Johnson's shot was a perfectly well place shot to the temple. At this point, no doubt RJJ's chin is worse than ever. I agree with the vid, his punch resistance was ruined by dropping that much weight. He escaped with a close win over Tarver, he could have retired then but if he did, people would assume that was a prime Jones being taken to the limit by Tarver.

That Glen Johnson loss really bugs me. Glen Johnson thinks Jones was prime when he knocked him out, if he only knew that prime Jones would have handled his ass easily. Tarver would have given Jones problems tho i admit he was a slick southpaw. I believe prime Jones has a very good chance at knocking Tarver out tho, hell Jones had Tarver hurt and stumbled in their third fight but was too scared to go in for the kill.
