not saying ggg can't fight...but he turned into a "slick counter-puncher" against the heavy hitting but limited lemieux and stunk the joint out disappointing all the fans expecting to see him go toe to toe mexican style with lemieux... knocking out a dude like wade who went down from punches to the shoulders and glancing blows don't prove ggg is a great "fighter"....it just proves his level of comp is very, very low.
any boxing fan with a keen eye knows gggs opposition stinks to holy H E double hockeysticks.....dont need roy to tell me
roy was saying ggg's ko of wade proves ggg a great "fighter" in contrast to ward who is a great "boxer"....roy didn't mention that ward was proving his mettle against top guys like barrera, froch, abraham, the swede, etc while ggg was proving his great "fighting" ability against monroe and wade...but what did ggg do against lemieux? lemieux was gggs' chance to prove to the world what a great "fighter" he is...go toe to toe with the big punching lemieux and ko him in spectacular in an all out war...but instead, that was the time ggg turned in a lame imitation of fmj, carefully working behind the jab and avoiding exchanges....that's his great "fighter'?
i dunno..i mean....if i understand what you are saying correctly....roy is saying the lemieux fight he should have gone in there and blasted him out or something ...got in exchanges to prove hes a great fighter? i mean i think a guy that can adapt and be a great fighter when he wants...and be a great boxer when he wants....thats pretty impressive and cool in my book....and i think ggg has that in them...i think ggg is real good ...i just hate the career path and fights they take
Yeah but we all know beating someone by knockout doesn't always mean it's an exciting fight. Klitschko is the perfect example.
i'm just saying I disagree with roy that walking through guys like wade and monroe proves ggg is a great "fighter"...it proves only that his level of comp is weak. a guy cotto or even lemieux would have probably got them outta there with the same ease... not saying it would have been the best strategy to trade with lemieux either....but that's what fans thought they were gonna get...a slugfest. the fact that ggg beat lemieux by outboxing him with ease proves that ggg is a good, versatile boxer...doesn't prove he's a great "fighter" the way roy stated.
ahhh..ok... i get you... ya id have to say i agree.... and ya...gggs comp level is weak....ive seen some guys try to prop up even curtis stevens...who stinks...i mean when cotto blased out geale in 4 that said alot too....lemieux is a bigger guy than most of gggs opponents ...thats about the only thing semi impressive about that win
i can see ggg-canelo being a chessmatch...less "fighting" and more "boxing"... i think ggg outboxes canelo using a jab and lateral movement.
GGG gets criticized for being able to change styles and defeat different styles?? Wow, this certain demographic of boxing fans are really reaching in a sad way😕
no, dumbfcuk, i'm praising him for being versatile...i'm just disagreeing with roy jones jr that ko'ing guys like wade make ggg a great "fighter" (as opposed to being a great "boxer")
What makes you think my comment was directed specifically at you and not, say, Roy Jones Jr and other posters, dumbf*ck?? Get over yourself sweetheart, not everybody is talking to or about you. I'm sure your mother thinks you special though. Your Dad also, if he were around.
