Roy Jones disses the idea of a Calzaghe-Pavlik fight

    And rightfully so. Joe is totally out of Pavlik's class, and that's coming from a Pavlik fan.

    So don't take it from myself or anyone else, take it from Roy Jones, Jr: Kelly Pavlik would get rolled by Joe Calzaghe, and there's no reason for the two men to meet.

    For myself and many others, we knew that before the Hopkins-Pavlik fight. After that fight, there is no longer any doubt. Styles make fights, sure, but if Hopkins outsped and confused Pavlik, Joe would humiliate him.

    I disagree with Jones but I wish him luck against Calzaghe.

    It's hard to know which Roy Jones you're listening to these days. The future Setanta correspondent Roy Jones who praises Calzaghe, or the Roy Jones who belittles Calzaghe's win over Hopkins and says that Calzaghe is only a "good Euro fighter" when he's talking to the American press core.

    Terrific comment, San Rafael. There's the Setanta correspondent, American Roy and Promoter Roy that wants to sell this fight so he's pumping up Joe and putting down Kelly.

    I don't think Kelly would have much of a chance with Joe, but it's obvious Roy is doing his best to make such a match-up sound ridiculous so as to elevate his own fight with Calzaghe.

    although he says otherwise, i bet calzaghe regrets not taking pavlik, because he could of done what hopkins did to him, and taken the jones fight after. if this had happen then maybe people would, respect him a little more, and everybody who wanted the fight to happen, couldnt complain that calzaghe was avoiding fights. Although typically if he had of beaten pavlik people would still give him ****, with the excuse that pavlik is overated! you cant win!
