...it's clear who the ****** is. You still don't even realise the time period people are referring to.

As for Collins being ringside for Jones' fight....HBO & Jones didn't even give Collins an interview when he got in the ring. He was left stood like a bellend, half in camera shot.

Don’t know if he ducked him but Roy is an overrated glass chinned fighter. A front runner. When someone stripped him of his aura of invincibility he was done.

The weight drained excuse is so ridiculous. Imagine thinking the human body is irreparably damaged by losing weight, a not extreme amount of weight. The excuse was ok for the first, but man they milked it for the rest of his career. If his body was that fragile then maybe he just wasn’t that great.

The whole “prime” thing is overrated. I am starting to appreciate more how fighters perform later in their career and also take away credit for guys who can’t adapt and fall of a cliff drastically. Roy barely took punishment but was useless late in his career. He was so useless that you have take away credit. He showed that he was not that great at all. No plan B, no intelligence, no chin, no adaptation, nothing. He might have beaten Hopkins in his absolute prime but Hopkins can say that he was better than him for a looong time late in their careers.

If a fighter declines steadily then is eventually useless, then that is more understandable and less credit is taken from them. Or if he’s badly damaged and took a lot of punishment. That’s understandable too. But if you had one of the best wins of your career and then you go from that to being knocked out by everybody and their momma, nah, something else is up. You lacked something. Tarver lost a ton of weight and then lost to Hopkins, but he could compete later in his career and wasn’t getting knocked out by everyone.

Great post. The pathetic and fantastical excuses from the RDL (Roid Defence League) have always been a great source of amusement to me as has their utter desperation to believe they're the gospel truth
