It's nice to see that Jones is really hyped about this fight. I think we'll see a lot of flashes of the old Roy - it's been a long time since you've seen him like this. It's funny how falling from glory can make you hungry for the spotlight again. They say fame is addictive and more and more - they prove it true.
Watch the left hook left uppercut combination from Jones against hanshaw and his newest sparring/workouts
That combo was quick as ****, unbelievably quick for his age. Tito will be wide open for that combo also :deal
Roy had a bit more than speed :yep. In his prime he was faster than Mayweather who people get carried away about. Floyd has great speed. But it is amplified because: he normally throw's one shot at a time and because he is accurate. :good
RJJ is seriously pissing me off as he is supposed to be concentrated on a PPV fight in two days time and is blasting out comments about his speed compared to Mayweather's and to steal Bernard's payday in his next fight with JC in Cardiff in a cadence of empty rhetoric. You are not supposed to do that at the age of 39 even if it can be understood as business wise...
Floyd is not as fast a Roy prime for prime on no giving day. Floyd is not faster than Judah on no giving day. I rate speed by who can throw fast punches standing still or multiple times. Floyd punches look a lot faster than the really are because of his movement. He is fast don't get me wrong, but his speed is fast because of his lateral movement and body movement as he is moving with the punches. Rarely have you seen him throw punches standing flat footed unless he is fighting slower people like the Gatti's or Hatton's of the world. Judah and Roy can throw fast punches standing still and blinding fast punches while they are moving. That is how I rate speed. And you suppose to be a a full member. Just look at round 1 and 11 of Roy's fight with Richard Hall and look at Judah's first round with Kostya. Now that was fast.
Floyd is nowhere near as fast as Roy. Floyd never had lightning handspeed, but his overall speed is very good. But yea...Roy couldn't be touched in his prime, Floyd Mayweather has never been seen as invincible like that.
And if you wanna see the definition of a true right hand lead again look at round one of Roy and Richard Hall. I am starting to like Floyd a lot more over the years but him and Roy need to stop taking this path of least resistence I have been claiming both of them have been taking for years. Floyd has a chance to be a great fighter but fighting these bums he have been fighting the last couple of years has really hurt him as far as credibility. He is in a division right now in which if he beat 2 or 3 more fighters I would even take my hat off to him. Until then he is just going to be a great talent with little to no heart who was destined to be great.
In fact when they fought it was apparent that Judah was faster... but again... who really gives a ****? they are all fast.... mayweather is by far the best fighter of them all.
Roy still has his hand speed. If Roy and his opponent were strapped to a pole and only had their hands free, he would be P4P Champ. His problem is his reflexes are shot and his legs can't last anymore. Watch his last 3 fights, there is no denying his hand speed :good
