    Well yeah, but that doesn't really apply here does it? The speed of the fighters is not self destructive..

    RJJ still got hand speed.. look at the Hanshaw knockdown.. that was LIGHTNING fast for that weight.

    Roy had better speed. Nowadays? floyd's perhaps a tad faster.

    Prime Roy was lightning. Anyone who could put poth hands behind his back and still beat his opponent to the punch is hell a fast:good

    Actually thats true. Floyd's speed is overrated, its Floyd's timing, defense and vision that makes him much better than RJJ as a boxer.

    No I agree. When he had equally freakish reflexes and foot speed and stamina, his handspeed could dominate anyone. But alone, it only gets him so far. But he's still quick. This thread isn't about how good he is now, its about how fast his hands are. :deal

    RJJ in his prime was untouchable, especially for speed.

    Floyd looked pretty fast when he was hitting Gatti with 8 punch combos. Go watch some 140,135, and 130 lb. Floyd fights, and you'll see a combination punching clinic. In fact, you'll even hear RJJ comment on how good of a combination puncher Floyd is. :deal

    Mayweather isn't even particularly fast, RJJ is another galaxy of speed in his prime, hes still faster than FMJ now, FMJ has slowed his last 2 fights.

    Watched this fight last month with my ex. The first and only thing she said about it was 'she couldn't believe how fast Floys was' :deal I think some people just get accustomed to it, but if you haven't seen him and then watch....he's frigg'n quick as hell. But not nearly as fast as Jones was.

    Agreed but Judah is up there as far as natural speed. Read my post on page 2. This Roy-Floyd speed thing is no comparision.
