What? Are speaking in opposites? Golovkins first 17 middleweight title defenses were by KO. Golovkin Technically Demoralized and beat down Lemieux, Jacobs beat up and made weight bully Chavez quit.

Like I said before, golovkins win over danny jacobs is better than roys entire resume outside of toney, bhop and maybe ruiz.

    Ha!

    Behave yourself.

I like Danny. He’s tough, he’s got good skills, and like you’ve already noted, he was huge on the night. And GG was at an advanced age. So the win was great for him. But your statement is a gross exaggeration.

Even taking into account GG’s age, it wasn’t more impressive than the following wins of Roy’s:

    Montell Griffin
    Virgil Hill
    Reggie Johnson
    Antonio Tarver

Those were fought at LHW which was Roy’s 3rd weight class.

He knocked out Griffin in a single round.

He knocked out Hill in 4 rounds.

He easily beat Reggie. It was hardly competitive.

He burnt muscle to drop back down to LHW, in order beat Tarver who was a difficult match up for him stylistically.

You have to take into account the quality of the fighters, the weight class, the manner of victory and the weight loss.

    You’re kidding yourself.

There’s no way that the Jacobs win eclipses those.

    Not a chance.

It's his LHW run after Virgil Hill. It was just **** considering the guys he had just fought at LHW alone: McCallum, Griffin and Hill.

It was very frustrating at that point. But he still fought good opponents afterwards. It was the keep busy fights and the mandatories that upset people.

I agree with most of what you have wrote above but are you aware of the late weigh in with Hill? Thought I would ask because you go on about circumstances and situations especially as you were happy to write
Of course you look at all circumstances and call it straight out lol

Hill and McCallum were also not too far removed from clear losses at that time

Yes, I never liked that diva side of him.

It was similar behaviour to Floyd.

He didn’t need to do it, and he’d have gotten more credit had he not have done it.

This was around the time that he asked the WBC for his old belt back. And I still cannot believe that they gave it him.

So with what you said about having to take everything into account, do you not think that should also be taken into account when you mention how he is the only person to stop Hill?

Yeah, and the fact that he was faded.

For those reasons it can’t be classed as an ATG win. But it was still extremely impressive.

Why have you not mentioned this scenario with Hill before often just saying he stopped Hill without the circumstances all around?

    Most people know.

They also know that Dariusz beat Roy first and that Hill was past his best.

It was still impressive though, as Roy was a former MW who beat him easier than anyone else.

How do you think most people know about the late weigh in?

Yes Roy won in far more convincing fashion than anyone else but you keep mentioning circumstance mattering in assessment of fights when I have said similar things, and Hill was having to have a late weigh in so do you not apply your same logic here that, that may have affected Hill?

Most people who I debate with know.

He’s been criticised for it. And I have no issue with that.

Are you implying that the fight would have played out differently if it hadn’t have happened?

It seems you’re just looking for an argument based on my last reply to you on the Maske thread.

Despite everything that happened, it was still a great win. Not an ATG win, but a great one.

Im not looking for an argument. Life is too short for that. I am asking you because you have made so much emphasise on these issues when others post but dont ackowledge these things when it is fighters you are in favour of
The point is, nobody knows if the body shot would have affected him as much with a longer time between weigh in and fight.

Now I agree it was a good win, but take into account coming off a loss and late weigh in which makes me not rate it as highly as perhaps you do
