Ggg never beat a guy as good as toney or hopkins or even tarver for that matter. Rjj dared to be great by moving to hw and beating ruiz. You can't mention rjj and ggg in the same sentence.
he never lost to anyone as bad as glen johnson. Not just lose, but getting your lights shut off. Also stop throwing jacobs under the bus, that was an elite win for gennady. Beating jacbos is comparable to beating those guys.
it's weird... most of the 3G haters have NO respoect for Danny Jacobs. And why? Because he was NOT undefeated and he lost to 3G. That makes DJ garbage I guess...
Once GGG beats someone they magically become bums. Danny would be a contender in any MW era. Not to mention he was damn near a cruiserweight the night GGG fought him. Do people realize GGG is a small guy?
Rjj was done when he came back to 175 after being at hw. He hung around too long with that said his resume and accomplishments are 1000000 light years beyond that of ggg and he would have absolutely destroyed ggg in a fight. Jacobs is even worse than Johnson.
ROFLMAO !! Ruiz was the laughing stock of the HW division. Was called one of the worst champions ever. THAT is why Jones jr fought him. As soon as the fight was announced Ruiz suddenly became a legitimate champion & Jones jr was a hero LOL. Heck another of my good friends in Dallas Kirk Johnson kicked Ruiz ass but Ruiz oscar winning worthy acting & Joe Cortez iincompetance/crooked officiating robbed Kirk of a legitimate KO win by DQ ing him. Yes Roy had a collection of'"contenders" including postmen, school teachers & even an Aussie garbage collector among his title challengers without ever leaving the US shores. Yes he was robbed blind in Seoul but really that made his career for him
As for GGG he is a natural Middleweight he doesnt have to boil himself down by illegal means to ever make weight like Canelo. Heck Canelo outweighed him fight night in both fights that was obvious. Yet all his haters try to berate him for not moving up in weight to 168. While doing this, they at the same time admire Canelo for refusing to fight at 160 while calling himself a middleweight champ ROFLMAO! You couldnt make this garbage up if you tried LOL
I sincerly hope you're trolling, but I have reason to believe you are this stupid. BTW, you cannot tell hen a fighter is "done". That's like saying GGG was done after his US debut because he was already 30 years old with 100's of amateur fights. Roy was only 35 when he came back down from HW, which is a good age for a guy his size. The fact remains that limited fighters like tarver and glenn johnson were better than pretty much everyone roy fought besides toney, bhop and a 100 year old body snatcher.
You pos you have been trolling since you started posting here you ****ing racist.. Ggg is an overrated hypejob whos best win is danny jacobs who's not even HOF level. Then you have the audacity to tear down fighters whose careers you wish ggg had. Your agenda and existence here is of jealousy and hate and you dont know **** about boxing to boot.
TISONLYONEKING, He’s only overrated if someone’s proclaiming him to be the GOAT. But you can still rate him extremely highly if you objectively analyse his career. Who? He took the fights which were available. Despite what many people think, there were only a handful of guys who truly wanted to fight Roy when he was prime. Dariusz M would only fight him in Germany. Joe Calzaghe wouldn’t fight him. Frankie Liles wouldn’t fight him. Chris Eubank wouldn’t fight him. Bernard Hopkins wouldn’t rematch him when it would have mattered. Roy beat more ranked fighters than most people. He fought almost everyone who was ranked in the top 10 at LHW. Less effective until he landed something of note? What does that mean? Roy beat plenty of fighters with ease who were levels above his mandatories: Castro Tate Malinga Hopkins Toney Thornton Sosa McCallum Griffin Hill Reggie Hall Gonzalez Woods Ruiz Go and look who those guys fought. Roy was the only guy who ever beat him like that. It was. He needed to retire early or change his style to compensate for his age. Give me some examples. Again, the opportunities had to be there. You seriously doubt he’d be regarded in the same way? Why? Roy would have been a big favourite over most of those. It doesn’t matter if Ward, Canelo and GG were more technically sound. It’s how they’d have matched up stylistically. Kovalev would have been very dangerous, but Andre Ward exposed him as a bully. He could give it out but he couldn’t take it. Andre systematically broke him down, both physically and mentally. GG has a small reach, little head movement, and is easy to hit and marks up. Roy would have found him extremely easy to hit. Ward is the best fighter out of the names you’d mentioned, and it would have been difficult for Roy. But I can’t see how Andre would have coped with Roy’s great speed and unorthodox style. Froch was tailor made for Roy. Pascal would have been pretty straight forward despite his toughness. Stevenson had huge power with his left hand, but he could be a little one dimensional with it. Canelo is a great fighter, but Roy’s size and speed would have been far too much for him. He’s obviously matured a lot since he fought Lara and Floyd, but he’ll always be troubled by speed and great movement. He is rated highly on a H2H basis. But also for his resume too. When a former MW is beating very good LHW’s with ease like nobody else, then you’re witnessing something special. Although fans do sometimes overrate their favourite fighters, you can put forward objective opinions on fantasy fights, based on how they’d have matched up stylistically. You can objectively do that based on the available evidence. The only fighters who should be favoured/heavily favoured over prime versions of Roy, are either guys who would have been horrible stylistic match ups for him, or the greatest fighters at LHW and above.
Floyd has a great resume. It’s only overrated if you’re going to claim that it’s one of the greatest or THE greatest resume. It’s a myth that Roy cherry picked lots of fighters.
