and that's the confidence to let his hands go like he used to.

    Thoughts?

My thoughts are you should watch a prime RJJ

That and reflex's and his legs are gone.

But I do agree he would still be a force if he just would throw punch's, there were times I was shouting at the T.V for him to punch.

yes, it was so damn frustrating. He could have ended it at any time. Wayyyy too timid.

Serious? I've seen damn near every 1 of his fights. I'm not saying he is still prime but if he lets his hands go he can still beat a lot of top fighters.

    yea i noticed that..

he did look to gain confidence from that fight last night, he started getting cocky and bouncing around shot potting titto hes good to watch when he turns on the style

i didnt think he looked like a shot fighter he looked quick to me and didnt even look tired at the end of the fight

I agree his reflexes are still there... he was blocking all tito's shots on his gloves. His desire to COUNTERPUNCH is gone, though... he just covers up. Roy at his best was an amazing counterpuncher, now he just does the peekaboo thing.

Well you implied he was not far off his prime by saying he's only lost the mental capacity to throw his hands

Which is clearly complete bollocks, he's lost a lot more than that. A prime RJJ would have finished a welter inside 2 rounds, he threw more than enough last night

I actually thought he looked ok, his punches were sharp and crisp and he moved better than he had previously, showboating aside. Should have finished the job earlier though

Nah man, id he still had his reflex's Tito would have been countered to hell just as he shaped to throw a punch. I do think his reflex's are not as gone as his legs are though.

He would do not bad against somebody like Dawson who he would get into a boxing match with. Do not know about Hopkins and Calzaghe though; Hopkins would probly rough him up and win a UD and Joe would beat up Roy pretty badly at this stage.

He does have his reflexes. He just doesn't have the confidence to throw as many counters as he once did. he definitely NEVER got tired. He would beat the dog **** out of Tarver right now.

I agree, now there is a fight I would like to see. If Roy was as confident as he was against TitoAntonio is in for a whooping :yep

You gotta make a thread title outrageous to get attention. LOL

Definitely entertaining and reminded me how good he was in his prime. Prime RJ is a problem for anybody in history near his natural size.
