i honestly can't see more than 5 VERY generous rounds. six would be giving tarver a gift and given him 7 would be scoring on height or something, not effectiveness in the ring. still, fights are subjective and we may simply be scoring on different things, it was close

Well, I certainly rate him as the best fighter ever at 160/168 h2h. He obviously doesn't have the resume to make #1 on any p4p list at either weight but h2h...noone beats in his prime...PERIOD.

Was it the loss of 18 lbs of muscle or was it Tarver’s size and power? Outlanded 120-111 by Tarver, first time Roy was outlanded by opponent in 22 fights tracked by CompuBox at that time. Roy did have 94-73 edge in connects in all important power punch
department, including a 26-17 edge in power connects in rounds 11 & 12, when the fight was up for grabs. Roy also had his highest output for fight in 11th & 12th, throwing 46 in 11th & 56 in 12th.
Tarver threw a total of just 12 power punches in rounds 3 thru 5 and landed just 2 of 22 in 6th round, as Jones swept those 4 rounds on all cards- the difference in fight. Overall Jones went 111 of 424 (26%), averaging 35 punches per round. Tarver went 120 of 504 (24%). Jones also landed 37% of his 94 power shots. Scoring: 114-114; 117-111 J; 116-112 J.)

Tarver out landed Roy by 9 punches, but was out landed by Roy in power shots by 21 according to compubox.

That fight had much to do with Roy's body attack, that were all power shots mostly that had Tarver hesitant, and flinching every time Roy feinted. He also would wince in pain when Roy landed a body shot... Those count too:deal

Tarver was bragging at the end of the fight that his huge lips were not busted, I wonder if he was secretly pissing blood after the fight? Because Roy Jones sure has hell beat the **** out of his body.:yep

The worst was Glass Jaw Roy INTENTIONALLY fouling out of the Griffin fight before he got KOed. Griffin was giving him a very tough fight and mentally Roy folded and essentially quit by getting DQed. :deal

    This is true...:deal

He also won the National amateur title at 165, when Manny Steward thought he was too small for that weight class, and won his first pro fight not even a week later.:good

Come on Rico, Roy did have lots of trouble with a prime Griffin..... Prime Griffin was an awkward man to face. But even you know Roy hit him while he was down out of frustration, not because he thought he was gonna lose... He floored Griffin twice, once in the 7th, once in the 9th. He was figuring him out for sure.

Since you think Roy fouled out on purpose, do you not give Roy credit for a plan-B then in the rematch? Dealing with adversity and coming back with a different game plan? He sure tore the head off of a good prime fighter there, with a totally new plan.:deal:good

he didn't lose 25 pounds. Are u stupid if someone doesn't have some percentage of fat on them THEY WOULD DIE. I'd say Roy was between 4%-6% body fat.

It was more like 15 pounds he had to lose, it is for sure still damaging tho.
