The "25 lbs of muscle loss" number being thrown about are exaggerated.

well, by definition PEDs have to enhance your performance. they serve a specific function. ripped fuel did not do that. therefore it's not a PED, nor was it on any list of banned PEDs. it was on a list banned for dangerous side effects. same reason that weed is banned; cause it's illegal, not cause it makes you fight like superman

well, we'll have to disagree, i feel it was for weight loss, not performance. it's like sticking your finger down your throat, but a lot less gross.

What Jones lacks is wins against really great fighters and a great fight. Beating Ruiz was never a great accomplishment. I give Roy credit for being great on his abilities to control fights and win easily against guys formidable like Pazienza, and even Toney. The Virgil Hill fight he was losing by boxing, so he went to the body and surprised Virgil. Only a great could have done that. But Virgil was 11 years from winning the title when he fought Roy. Roy always fought them too early or too late.

Roy didn't drop 25lbs of muscle. At the official weight in he came in a 193lbs and that was with his ****ing clothes on, and do you actually think he fought Tarver without cutting water weight the night before the fight? Probably NOT. Roy had to lose 15lbs max for Tarver.

(BTW I know unofficially he came in at 199 for Ruiz but that is UNOFFICIALLY, for all we know he stepped on a ****ing bathroom scale)

yup, 25 is pushing it. but regardless, even 15 would be 2 or 3 regular weight classes. how many middleweights have had success at 160 at then dropped down to 147 or 140 and beat the number one guy?

i still maintain, if it wasn't ruiz but lewis he beat and then retired, he'd be a top 10 all time lock. the tarver fight would have been icing on the cake that he didn't need but considering it was ****ing ruiz, he kinda had a bit to prove to himself

A middlweight dropping to welterweight is totally different because he's losing much more his actual body %. Archie Moore and Bob Foster were both able to move up to heavyweight, and back down and still be dominate champions at Light Heavy.
