I think that's when he peaked, around 1993-94.

The haters are too harsh. He was an ATG. But I think he wasn't shot or too past it when he lost to Tarver. He just came off his supposed best win, an overrated win against a **** HW, but still, most people hail that win as something special. If he was so special then, how come he's shot two fights after? No way. He may have been drained for the first fight, but not for the second one. Tarver was a good match up for him, that's all.

Kovalev's jab has enough snap to put RJJ out cold. He's also naturally a bigger man.

    Roy doesn't see round 4

 Roy has power in both hands Kovalev has never delt with speed and power the likes of Jones ..Kovalev has been dropped by lesser fighters Kovalev's corner most likely throws in the towel

Virgil Hill was naturally bigger too.

John Ruiz had 30 lbs on him. Fighters didnt tend to outmuscle Jones, as he was darn near supernaturally quick in his prime.

Im pretty sure Jones lasts longer than Cedric Agnew.

He lost a ridiculous amount of weight in a short time frame at an advanced age. If you look at the fights before and after his heavyweight "crusade" you can see a clear diminished punch resistance and level of athleticism.

The rapid weight loss combined with a lot of heavy punches sustained in the first Tarver fight is most likely why Roy Jones became shot over night. I also believe he came off the juice shortly after, further accelerating his fall from grace.

Kovalev has a pretty good puncher's chance imo. If he lands ONE on Roy, flush, Roy is in big trouble. He hits harder than anyone Roy fought. Ruiz is garbage, even at HW he had nothing.

    :rofl:patsch

Kovalev would savagely KO Jones. He would be put in a coma by Kovalev with that Glass Jaw of his.

A lot of people can't seem to grasp that a fighter achieves what he does within a frame of time and anything that happens after he's out of his prime shouldn't tar the heights he achieved before that. Taking that weight off for the Tarver fight and maybe a marked lack of motivation really hindered him but he was knocked out fair and square, after that was a pretty sharp decline. Longevity isn't in every athlete's bones.
