Well when you manuver through weight Divisions avoiding THE champion in those weight classes how is that impressive? That is the whole point here. The guy went to weight classes and fought for either vacant/stripped belts and didn't fight any of the better contenders that were available to him. What he did at Super Middleweight, Light Heavyweight and Heavyweight as far as avoiding fights was disgraceful. Yes the Hopkins and Toney wins were very good but that was in the early 1990's he literally did nothing for a 10 year period after that except fight a bunch of no hopers while avoiding risky fights. It is easy to just sit back and say he was so great while picking up a bunch of meaningless trinket belts. Jones fighting Ruiz was classic Roy handpicking the easiest target then then calling himself a 'champion' when there was a linear legitimate champion already in that division that Jones refused to face. He did the same thing at Light Heavyweight also. I am not saying Jones can't/couldn't fight. I am saying he had a very meticulous and handcrafted career. We don't know how good he could have been because he missed so many legit contenders/champions.
Lol at hypejob. If prime Roy Jones, the best fighter of the 90's is a hypejob.. then wtf does it take to be a great fighter? A hypejob to me is someone like Ricky Hatton, JCC Jr, or JuanMa Lopez.
Roy avoiding his biggest challenges is the one of the biggest myths in boxing. It's been discussed to death on here.
Roy ducked the rematch? You've got that back to front. http://usatoday30.usatoday.com/sports/boxing/stories/2002-07-10-jones-hopkins.htm How does Bernard have a better resume?
Please answer the following question that I've asked you on numerous occasions: How many fighters did Roy miss, who were better than the best guys he fought? He wasn't reluctant to make challenging fights. You have been shown evidence where he tried to fight Liles, Dariusz (in the U.S.) Hopkins II, and Holyfield etc.
Hatton a hypejob? He lost to the 2 best fighters of his generation. He was great, just not in that class.
So Toney wasn't considered the best fighter at SMW when Roy fought him? Ruiz didn't mean anything, just because he didn't fight Lennox? atsch
Why couldn't Roy have beaten the early 00's versions of Holy and Mike etc? Do skills and speed mean nothing to you?
