did roy really beat 'prime' hopkins and 'prime' toney? so what advantages do you believe juicing gives a fighter during extensive training programmes? do you believe there are advantages to be gained in the speed, strength, power, and fitness departments? its pretty obvious that roy didn't juice especially for richard hall, why would he? imo, all the logical signs point to someone who had juiced for a sustained period of his career and had been caught out the very 1st time he was ever tested for steroids. i will give jones credit for his performances at the olympics and for any of his performances as a clean fighter after the hall bout.
yeah dude i havent even mentioned the hall fight. I havent even seen it. You are the one obsessing about it. FYI, steroids build muscle, not reflexes, if anything large amounts of extra muscle mass slow you down. end of argument.
I don't blame Jones for his steroid use, there is a lot of money to be made in boxing and his chin was too disgraceful to allow him to compete naturally, even if he was competing mostly against dishwashers and baggage handlers.
Truly a great talent but he failed to listen to his comment he sent to Wlad right about this time: "he can dish it out, but he can't take it" Had Roy fought Corrie Sanders instead of John Ruiz, the craze would have ended sooner.
you are talking to a student doctor, so your bull**** about the effects of steroids ends there. cheers.
Jones, in his prime, was simply immense. He posessed lightning fast hand speed and a fair dig to boot. Unfortunately, he got old, his reflexes started to deteriorate and he suffered some very heavy defeats. Basically, after Ruiz and the drop in weight he was finished - albeit Tarver helped him on his way.
yep thats right, roy jones and james toney juiced up because they purposefully wanted to lose boxing matches and knew that it was the best way of slowing them down :rofl get the **** outta here you ****ing clown :nut
Jones was a Glass Jawed Fraud who NEVER beat a Undisputed, Unified, or Lineal Champion in his whole career he was also never THE Champion in any weight class he fought in he for the most part collected vacant trinket belts and fought Mandatory fights against mediocre fighters instead of fighting the best fighters that were available to him. His career was carefully crafted and smoke and mirrors.
He dominated Hopkins and Tony -- in their primes. :huh Barely lost a round during his prime and went years without losing one round. Who else could he have fought? Other than Darius M? Who wouldn't leave his country to fight Roy.
He was a monster against who exactly? A couple future ATG and a lot of cans. But yeah, he was ridiculously talented.
