Certainly not more than beating Jirov's conqueror while he was undefeated, ranked in the top 3 p4p and in his peak weight class. I think you might have your boxrec tabs slightly mixed up. You might be skimming through DM & Calzaghe's boxrec there and mistaking it for Jones. Be sure to double check and get back to us with the proper info. And it's not even close really.
and what makes it all worse is that even when roy jones was in his prime, he was riddled with anabolic steroids because he wasn't sure enough in himself to fight off a level playing field. btw, can people stop mentioning jirov as though he was some great opponent. jirov has never beat anyone of note in his entire professional career, he is merely a eurobum hyped up to try and give fellow steroid riddled disgrace james toney a pat on the back with.
There where tons of massive fights he could of made at smw or middle. Nigel benn, chris eubank, micheal nunn, ste collins, Gerald McClellan, juilian jackson Be interesting to see what his record would be like if he made them.
Takes two to tango man .By the way nice avi ..So I guess that was the punch that broke Chrisora's trainers jaw ..
The guy was the top dog the main money earner why wouldn't they take the fight, it would of been a massive pay day for any of them. I don't really believe any of them would of been afraid of facing him. and yes i think so
I don't think any of them were scared ..The politics just ruined everything .. Had to give Haye respect after that incident ...
I love Roy, but he is an idiot. Greatest fighter of this generation, but also makes the worst decisions. Its his life though, so good luck to him. I dont think ill be watching though.
I wouldn't of said he lost everytime he stepped up as he beat Eubank and Benn. Yes they were both past their prime at the time, but Eubank was still a very good boxer that got roughed up. If you're saying that Collins would of lost to Jones, then I would agree, but the point is Collins was a world champion at the time begging for that fight. The money would of been there for Jones and he also would of got another world title to add to his collection, but he turned the fight down. Jones regardless of his phenomenal ability turned down a few fights in his prime.
Roy is jealous of Bernard Hopkins. Bernard at his old age is still able to fight and win against the young fellas. And I think that bothers Roy.
