Roy Jones is still a shot fighter who just beat up another shot fighter..Period

 

Roy Jones is definitely shot. He's nothing compared to what he was in his prime. And this "shot" version of Roy Jones is still good enough to compete for the light heavyweight crown. Yes he fought low class opposition in Lacy and Sheika and he did what you're supposed to do when your a far superior fighter which is dominate them thoroughly.

 

yeah he is still washing that money.

obviously jones cant turn back the clock, but he definately aint washed up.

the jones that fought lacy was a better a version than the jones that fought tarver and johnson thats for sure. instead of relying on his footspeed and insane reflexes, he's starting to use the ropes which i like to see. it shows that he's aware that he's slowing down with age. the jones that fought tarver and johnson wasnt aware and he payed dearly.

i think jones still has potential to be champ again. he's gone back to the drawing board, changed his style to what suits his flaws, and he's winning, convincingly.

ide like to see his career turn out like mosley's and knock the top dog out.

 

Lacy is not world class anymore mate! He nearly got knocked out by "diamente" Mendoza whose best days were at 154 pounds.

 

I like Jones, but hes not back. Hes 40 years old and only getting older and slower. Lacy is a one dimensional fighter with one punch Jones had to look out for. Jones will look great against fighters like that, but as soon as he steps up to a real solid fighter his age will show again. I would like to see him fight Johnson and avenge that loss because Im sure he can beat him. Tarver will always be bad for him. Not only does he have one mentally over Jones, but Tarver is just too good of a counterpuncher, and he will wait the entire fight for Jones to lead. Bad stylistic matchup.

 

Shot means he cant even compete with mid level contenders. Jones isnt shot, hes just not a dominating fighter anymore. He was looking shot after the Johnson fight getting KO'd in two consecutive fights, but I think hes redeemed himself and proved hes not.

Not close to where he was in his prime but certainly not washed up. He still beats most fighters out there today.

 

Did you see the Otis fight? Lacy got booed by his hometown, I was there. Lacy was lucky to get the win on Otis Griffin and Roy was visibly worried before the announcement on the decision.

A win over Lacy doesnt prove anything, of course Roy looked amazing, Lacy never had a chance Lacy is beyond shot.


Roy is not beating Dawson. He couldnt beat Tarver years ago he aint ever going to become the top guy again of 175.

 

I dont think most people realize how bad Lacy is these days. He was the perfect guy, stationary and cant get his punches off, to make Jones look good.

 

Jones has no Chin and no heart. He is fighting handpicked opponents who all happen to be shot. Trinidad, Sheika, and Lacy were all shot to **** yet when Roy beats them he is somehow 'back'? :roflatsch

Basically he is fighting Joe Calzaghe leftovers. Think about that for a second.
