Because it was probably the biggest robbery in boxing history....

And the pass is, he was the bigger draw, held all the cards, and didn't have to travel to fight anyone.

Did you even see the minter olympic fight?? If not please dont comment, that was a clear robbery as well

He was the bigger draw in the usa? Correct
But DM was a huge draw in europe especially europe

He held all the cards? Hell no, he was the number 2 in the division, and never faced the number 1

So the number 2 guy dosent have to travel to face the number 1 guy???

Why should number 1 travel????? Dont say money, because DM was as big of a star in europe as roy was in america,

Dont say cards because Dm was the true champ

Dont say the robbery BS, because other people who got robbed in gold have traveld. Roy shouldnt get the lone exception

So what other reasons do you have???

I don't think DM was the true number one guy, that is why.

so you think the guy who held 3 titles in the division is number 2 to the guy who only held 1 and then picked up the formers vacated title????

Keep dreaming, you are number 1 until somone knocks you off the throne. You dont become number 2 because some guy picks up your vactated titles and refuses to fight you

Ask yourself... why would DM go to the usa??? He was the establish 175 top dog, made a **** load of money in germany.... Why would he be forced to come to the usa to fight for his old belts???

If someone had my old titles I would sure as hell want them back... Especially if he was known as the best fighter alive, and especially if me beating him would make me an all time great.:good

I love the way Mind Reader thinks Glass Jaw and Heart Roy Jones is the only fighter to ever be robbed in a Boxing match. He acts like Roy's so called robbery was the first in the history of the sport.:rofl:patsch

And John Ruiz was a hand picked opponent by Jones. Ruiz has 1 proper KO in 10 years. That is right 1 proper stoppage in a Decade. He has no power. None. And he also has no skill at all. How convenient for Roy. Throw in Jay Nady and that 'fight' errr sparring session was a circus.

James Toney also beat Ruiz and even knocked him down. Jones was content on throwing 15 punches a round and clowning the whole fight.

Yeah, and if the WAY smaller Jones' jaw was as bad as you say it is, he would have been knocked out against any heavyweight....

Let alone one that floored Holyfield.

DM was already faded by 2000

what did roy accomplish up to 2000 to make him the greatest fighter alive at that moment??

Toney was by far his best win
    Then comes Mccalum
Then bhop ( no one knew bhop was that good at the time)

griffin??? who only was considred good because he gave roy trouble??

Or johnson and devalle who picked up dm's vacated titles???

How about knocking out Virgil Hill with a single body shot?

He went the distance with DM right before that.

Going the distance against a BIG PUNCHER like DM takes ALOT out of you. hill was never the same after that fight. he took alot of heavy shots from a big puncher You dont become number 1 by beating the guy who number 1 just beat who do you give more credit for the hatton win? mayweather or pac?

also hill had no tune up or comeback fights. Thats what happens when fighters get their asses beat and go to another big fight thinking they dont need any other fights between

Toney, undefeated and considered by some to be the best P4P fighter in the world, (Jones was also moving up in weight for the fight)

Griffin was undefeated, held 2 wins over Toney, and considered to be a threat to Jones.

Helt three titles and dropped two of them because the mandatories were too hard.

Then got whooped by a guy that didn't win a round against Jones.
