I agree with this. Guy was a sensation in his prime.

The hate that Roy gets now is SICKENING. If he never got KO'd by Tarver and retired after their first fight, threads like this would never exist.

What exactly did Roy Jones not do in his prime?

He was as dominant as any one in History and deserves a very high p4p ranking
Possibly could be the real Greatest!!

If he retires at 35 i think everyone says he's the greatest

These are perhaps the most bizarre rankings i've ever seen in print, of any kind.

Which is why fighters should not be ranked on an all-time great list until after their career is over. If he retired there would likely be questions anyway so he continued.

Jones was the most athletically gifted fighter I ever saw. His performances against guys he could outmanuever were breathtaking. He was just so much faster than the guys he fought.

RJJ was a smart businessman most of his career and maximized his low risk-high reward strategy. He was like SRL, in that he fought guys at times in their careers when they weren't great risks, but they were great names.

I always thought of him as a bully who loved to dominate inferior opposition and make them look bad, and didn't want to fight people who would actually challenge him.

Sometimes, a great career is more about retiring at the right time than how great you were at your peak... at least among the ill-informed.

So you like to judge fighters on performances when they were simply a shot shell of their former glory? :huh

...Roy was clearly a shot fighter from Tarver I onwards, video evidence shows this.
