Roy Jones Jnr "I have 2 years left fighting and I want Clinton Woods after Sheika!!"

  1. No.

Roy would have to have lost all of his money for that to occur. Many (past it) greats have taken fights in such circumstances.

If RJJ or Hopkins wanted to fight anyone they could have already made those fights. Neither want Dawson. As hard of a hill to climb as it appears to be, Hopkins would rather put on the weight and go fight a cruiser like Adamek than face the quick handed Dawson. Both guys are not looking for great athletes to fight. That is why they both were willing to face Calzaghe (and Hop was willing face Pavlik). Same reason Roy fought Ruiz instead of any other heavyweight. They know their limitations. They are carefully avoiding great athleticism because they are way past their physical prime.

You are not giving RJJ credit for getting in the ring with the at-the-time Ring Magazine Light-Heavyweight champ who had just unified the SM division?

    :hi:

  3. You mean a guy who fought for the heavyweight championship ending his career fighting a SMW champ with the most defenses of the prestigious WBO?

Yeah, it wasn't something he had to give much thought about.

Well it was a bad decision because he was punched about like a ragdoll, face ****ed up. Cut for the very first time in his career!

"That's gonna hurt in the mornin' son!"

  7. Imagine if he had fought another guy who could actually punch his weight? Two old men (Tarver & Johnson) had put his lights out before that. A cut from Calzaghe is far better than getting KOd anytime. Hence, the choices of opponents Roy has made in his twilight:

    Prince Badi Ajamu
    Anthony Hanshaw
    Felix Trinidad (semi-retired)
    Joe Calzaghe
    Omar Sheika
    Clinton Woods
    Retirement

Pretty shabby list but safe and understandable
