Most people don't even know he fought on the weekend

I've given up watching his fights

    IT's just getting ridiculous now

Hindsight is everything. If RJJ had retired after beating Ruiz, he would gone down as a mega legend. He still will go down as a great but he is tarnishing his legacy for sure.

I look forward to the day Pacquiao and Mayweather are doing the same. They should fight each other in their 50's :deal

Did Ray Robinson tarnish his legacy by fighting Joey Archer?

    No

It may kinda feel that way now, but years from now, people won't think of it as anything more than a legend fighting longer than he should have.

Ali/Leonard/Robinson/Roy/Toney/etc all fit into this category. Means very very little, if anything at all.

It's part of the sport. Not everyone will retire in the perfect time like Lennox Lewis did.

Athletes today care more about money than legacy.

Jacking up his win total against guys posing no threat? That is neither good nor bad for his legacy, really.

If he kept taking on the likes of Lebedev and stupidly chasing real world titles and constantly getting himself KTFO, he would be ruining it.

He can style on Courtney Fry types all he wants AFAIK. More power to him reliving his glory days of dominance (if he is able to make himself blissfully unaware of how terrible his opponents are now) and pocketing a bit of extra walking-around money on top of his commentating salary and whatever residuals he gets from Can't Be Touched. :conf

I'll be honest... Part of me really wanted to see Jones/Collins when it was being talked about recently.
