Who wins before September 2003 Calzaghe or Roy Jones Jnr ?

Who wins after September 2003 Calzaghe or Roy Jones Jnr ?

In Roy Jones Jnr's first fight after the BALCO scandal broke in September 2003, Roy Jones received a hard earned and extremely close decision over Antonio Tarver. ThatÂ’s the fight in which Joe Calzaghe made the comment that Jones looked human for a change.
Pre September 2003, Roy Jones was 'superhuman', sub September 2003 Roy Jones was almost ordinary.
I am not saying there is a connection between BALCO and Roy, I will let other people decide that for themselves, but Roys decline coincided with BALCO being closed down.

Joe Calzaghe would have had his hands full with Roy Jones up until September 2003.

Joe Calzaghe beats Roy Jones any time after September 2003.

LOl then why bring up BALCO if you're not saying there's a connection? Also no mention of losing the HW muscle? Roy dropped the lbs and his prime coming down in weight and yes, Cal beats a past-prime Roy.

Six months after scaling 175 pounds, Roy Jones managed to put on 25 lbs of pure muscle to fight Ruiz for a version of the heavyweight crown{officially weighed in at 193, but some said he was 199}. He was well muscled, cut and chiseled to the max.
Roy Jones then had 8 months to return to his normal weight, you are not going to be weight drained fighting at your own weight and have 8 months to comeback down to it as well ?, Roy Jones was never the same boxer again, strange isnt it ?

it will have an affect on anyone who loses muscle 18 pounds is a lot but considering he would weigh in at 175 just for the weigh in and he would then be able to gain weigh afterwards

Dropping 20 lbs of muscle after hitting thirty and returning to the same form is damn near impossible. Add to the fact that Roy has been a physical phenom since the day he turned pro and I think the weight theory is the more sound of the two. Not saying Roy didn't take anything but what he tried to do after winning the HW title is unprecedented for a reason, nobody can drop that kind of weight that old and be the same guy.

Returning to his normal weight not an issue, putting on 25 lb of pure muscle and still being well defined, now thats impressive.
He must have eat a lot of steaks and did a lot of gym work.

Another strange fact about Roy is he never fought outside the USA as a professional boxer, I wonder if this had anythink to do with him being robbed at the Olympic games ?.
Strange all the same ?, not much chance of Joe Calzaghe having a fight with Roy Jones in Wales, then was there.

:huh Roy had all the leverage in negotiations why would he go to Wales? Even towards the end of their careers it was Joe who needed to cross the pond for Hopkins and Jones. I fail to see your point.

Something else unusual about Roy, that an article on the net I read pointed out, for such a marvellous great boxer, it was very strange to see him go from so good to so ordinary overnight, the author said that other greats tended to decline slowly, like Ali for instance, some ex greats suffer a knockdown having competed well in the fight until that point or lose after been knocked down early in a fight, and their next fight they get back to near where they had been before, but with Roy Jones there was no gradual decline, he was a World beater one minute and ordinary the next, strange to say the least.

Clearly someone is butthurt by a recent Calzaghe bashing thread. Its funny how he thinks he's being subtle about his Jones Jr. hating.

Pre September 2003, i.e a prime Roy Jones mops the floor with Calzaghe, probably without a doubt, another KO to his W collumn.

Post September 2003, Calzaghe's work rate overcomes Jones, who lays on the rops for 20 minutes of the 36. Calzaghe by Decision

Interesting point, although if any other 'great' did what Jones did in terms of the weight loss, I think they'd suffer just as much by going to 'ordinary', as you decribe it.

Jones has stated many times that he would never fight outside the US exactly because of the robbery of the '88 Olympics. He has said he simply does not trust foreign judges. This is common knowledge amongst anyone who has followed his career.

90's Roy crushed Calzaghe (Late KO)

Early 2000's Roy wins a tough UD decision over a prime Calzaghe

We all know what happened to an old, 2x knocked out Roy Jones when he fought Joe
