Roy Jones Jr Apparently Wants to Fight Tony Bellew

RJJ has been trying to position himself into a Cruiserweight World Title Match for some time now, but Bellew has recently vacated his Cruiserweight Title after the win over Haye.

What would happen if this fight were made? While Bellew obviously has his sights set on winning a HW Title, many were doubting Bellew going into the Haye fight, and while Bellew deserves to be commended for his win, it did have a lot to do with Haye's leg injury.

I mean obviously a lot of people would pick Bellew to beat current RJJ and they would be worried about Roy fighting on, but in reality does Bellew really have the power to knock RJJ out? When Roy's been knocked out, it's been by big punchers. It took Bellew a lot longer than it should have to stop a one legged punching bag Haye after he got injured. Roy Jones today is still a lot more elusive than Haye was when injured vs Bellew, and I'm not sure Bellew has the power to actually get RJJ in trouble. All jokes aside, I think this would be an interesting fight if it happened. Lets not forget that Bellew himself was talking about retirement after beating Haye, so while we all may want to see Bellew get some bigger fights vs established Heavyweights like a Wilder, in the end his best win is a win over an immobile injured Haye and it still took forever to get a punching bag Haye out of there.

What would happen if this fight was made at Cruiserweight? When RJJ's been stopped, it's been generally by big punchers. Bellew doesn't have the one punch power of a Enzo Maccarinelli or a Lebedev, and Roy may still have a decent shot at outboxing Bellew. Now many fans may think Bellew has what it takes to beat Wilder, so the idea that he would struggle with an ancient Roy Jones may sound laughable, but really think about it. Styles make fights, and I just not convinced that Bellew can stop Roy Jones.
