Do you think Roy could have won a title at JMW? If he did, he would have been the first fighter ever to win titles from JMW to HW.

Maybe, but he was young and tight at the weight. He would have to be fast tracked, which IMO might not be good for his development.

Yes he could have at the ideal time. The division was not overly strong and Jones was coming on like a freight train.

Definitely. But, he outgrew that division too quickly.

This. Even a slightly weight drained Roy would have. His body could take it being younger and not quite filled out yet. Then when you factor in his otherworldly talent, and a not so great division at the time as John illustrated, I think he does it.

We saw what happened when he dropped nearly 20lbs from his Heavyweight trip. Age was a factor, but the decline was quick. So I think it was for the best he started winning titles at 160 and did not struggle with the weight at 154.

But for fun, looking at the title holders in 91; prime Norris would probably be too much; Dele would be a win, but he was no name; Pazienza would have been more competitive than their later fight at 168, but still RJJ wins easy-ish; Rosi would be awkward but would be a win anywhere but in Italy and the most interesting might have been prime John David Jackson... At the time I would pick JDJ, but I suspect Jones probably gets on top late to win the decision/late stoppage.
