    EXACTLY.

Jones is so reluctant to commit to fight that he often does not realise he could finish the fight much earlier. I can not be bothered listing those fights where he got his opponent hurt and instad of him raining punches to finish him, he goes back to his usual waiting game.

    I was being facetious.

If you look at his later fights, you'll see it often: big right and the forward momentum allows Bhop's noggin to act as a secondary weapon to the guy's head. Probably happens a lot in boxing, but Bhop seems to have refined it to the point of mastercraftsman. Some might call it dirty, but there it is...cruise-missile noggin.

Bernard has a better record against Tarver and Johnson than Roy does. Of course Roy has a better record against Bernard than Bernard has against him. One common opponent Joe Calzaghe had to get off the canvas in round one to outpoint both men. Bernard by SD and Roy by UD.

so i guess a guy throwing a six hook combo against a walking heavybag is more impresive then a guy picking apart and absolutly schooling the king of the middle weights......i like roy, hell i might still even like to see him fight some of these b level fighters, but is it just me or is he starting to get just a little bit anoying with these comments he really has nothing to back them on
also boxing may be in a bad spot right know but its not becouse roy isint #1 p4p lol what a joke

also roy was never a fighter that heavely relied on boxing skill he relied on god given athletic talent and it was and still is spectacular. but age catches us all and as you get older u loose some of that god given talent and that is when ur actual skill has to come in and save u. roy has not shown that skill AT THE HIGHEST LEVEL so sure he can look good against b level guys but when ever he steps up he will loose

Maybe a different fighter but Winky isn't exciting to watch.

Great fighter, but not one for the casual spectator.

people knowaday get to cought up in the brutality of combat sports and the truth is that boxing has always been a science before it has been a bloody battle. i think boxing will probobly eventually die in the mainstream but i dont think that is necesaraly a bad thing, do u think people will stop boxing just becouse they cant make millions doing it do u think people will stop watching videos of past greats and not be inspiered to box. IF BOXING DIES IT WONT BE THE SPORT THAT GETS BURIED IT WOULD BE THE BUISNESS OF BOXING THAT GETS BURIED

Theres some truth to what Roy is saying. Hopkins for as dominating as he's been in most of his career dude has about a handful of fights that he really looked impressive in.

All this skill Hopkins has and he never found a way to win decisively against a fighter whose much faster than him.

I know everybody and their momma has different views on how the Calzaghe and Taylor fights went but the fact remains is he wasn't comfortable with there quickness and it showed in those fights.

Hopkins is still and ATG. Roy is too but they just enjoyed success at different times in their career.

And Hopkins did sound shook when Roy called up in that interview.

Calzaghe got a gift SD there no way he REALLY won that fight. Thats why he retired to hunt rabbits and become a dancer instead of giving Nard a rematch he really deserved:patsch

What a hyprocrite Jones is. He spent his prime taking the low risk/ high reward fights, never giving the fans the great fights we deserved and he has the audacity to criticise Hopkins for not knocking people out when he allowed inferior fighters to go the distance with him when he could have easily KO'ed these lesser fighters. I still remember when fans tried to boycott his fights because he wasn't even trying to make fights but simply have sparring sessions with inferior fighters.

As for his whole thing for throwing multiple hooks, they are nothing punches now much like Clazaghes slaps. He hasn't looked impressive since beating Ruiz. I know he is simply talking **** to try and get Hopkins in the ring with him but he must think boxing fans are idiots to believe the crap he comes out with.

In my opinion I couldn't call it a gift.

One of the closest big fights of recent years, and also one of the hardest again for me to score.

A draw would of been fair. However can see the arguements for both fighters winning. Disputable decision, but not a gift.
