I thought the Toney fight was a great performance, even though it's not particularly a fun fight to watch.
oooo, i was thinking paz but griffin 2 probably wins. said it once, say it a thousand times, forget paz and his limitations jones performance that night was transcendent. his jab, movement, defense (not getting hit for an entire round!) everything was mind boggling
With the standard of opposition in mind: James Toney, Montell Griffin II For sheer brilliance, not giving the standard of opposition a second thought: Richard Hall, Vinny Pazienza
Tarver 1 was good too. Ya can't say Roy didn't deal with adversity after watching that fight but Roy didn't look like "Superman" in that fight so that may take away from that fight.
Tough for me to pick one. Honestly, I think the guy that was in the ring with Malinga is pretty much unbeatable head-to-head.
Griffin II - Hill - best body shot I've ever seen. Ruiz - was amazing.. but Jones was never the same.
i'm gonna throw out the bryan brannon fight. again, not the best fighter but he JUMPED on jones and applied constant pressure...and was destroyed for it. a rare glimpse of jones fighting purely on the inside
Jones was never the same after Ruiz. If Jones retired after Ruiz easily the best fighter of all time. What if Jones stayed at 175.. ?
I don't understand how people say a fighter that just dropped from Heavyweight, and won the Light Heavyweight title back in the very next fight never faced adversity.:huh
