Jones severs ties with King, but says he'd fight Sam Peter for title when he's done with Calzaghe

GL: Uh oh, we've been waiting for this exclusive. "Yes you have and I'll been calling your phone all day yesterday just to make sure you got it before anybody. First things first, Don King was gracious enough to move on and allow me make my negotiations to make the fight with Joe Calzaghe. With that being said, me and Calzaghe are going to be fighting this fall. They're holding September 20th or November 15th for us, but right now it's looking like Septmebr 20th."

Coming from the biggest and most loyal Calzaghe fan at ESB -

    LAME.:patsch

I truly hope this is not Calzaghe's last fight, what a ***** way to go out when you're ranked p4p #2, somebody slap some sense in him, he could finish with one of the best resume's of this generation with just two more top, young opponents.

****ing disapointing. **** this. I won't even watch it and I'm hoping that a Dawson, Pavlik or whatever fight is made after it.

Although Im not a fan of Calzaghe. I agree. He blatently ducked other challenges for the lesser Jones.

I would be fine with this if this was 2001 now it does little for Calzaghe's legacy it almost hurts it.:-(

Boycott this shitty match. Jones is also an idiot for signing to an assured loss and stalling out other superior matches. Of course some guys will take the money, for life security purposes, some of these shot big names need to just retire and get out of the way.

Not that this excuses Calzaghe, this is a terrible move, but I wish these old guys would **** off, this happens all too often.

Look at the Mayweather-Hoya situation that was being planned, obnoxious, stalling out better matches vs. fresh and prime fighters.

I think much like Oscar, RJJ thinks he can win this contest. He doesnt' know his limitations...and I'm sure there's a big piece of him that thinks "I can dominate this guy like I did everyone else I went up against".

I blame Calzaghe for taking this fight when a guy like Pavlik or Dawson lurks as a younger much stronger name on his resume.

Get a life you losers! Joe is going to have one more fight! There is no point fighting a guy who is not proven against a pound for pound fighter. This is joe's last fight. Rate his career at the end of this fight. Good or bad.
    No abuse needed.

Joe will fight jones and retire. Then come back 6 months later to sign to fight Kelly after he knocks out a big name
