    Geoff Ciani of On The Ropes continually goes on about how he'd like to see Pacquiao fight Sergio Martinez.

    On fightnight, Pacquiao weighs 148lbs.

    On fightnight, Martinez weighs 170lbs.

    So he'd like to see a fight between two guys

    OK Geoff, then why not as tune-ups for that one don't we see:


    Manny Pacquiao vs bantamweight Abner Mares

    Pacquiao fightnight weight 148lbs, Mares weighs in 118 so presumably goes up to the mid-120s,

    Well then how about Sergio Martinez vs lightheavyweight Chad Dawson

    Martinez fightnight weight 170lbs, Dawson weighs in 175 so presumably goes up to mid-180s or so on fightnight.

    Conclusion: Talk sense Geoff. The very idea of the fight is stupid. :-(

    We all had a busy week and not could get everything together in time....we did a special show with Emanuel Steward on Sunday, and just did not post the link here. Sorry about the lack of updates, but I promise you we will make it up with some amazing shows to finish out the month :good

    Abner Mares fights at 80% of the weight Manny Pacquiao fights at, Manny Pacquiao fights at 92% of the weight Sergio Martinez fights at, Sergio Martinez fights at 91% of the weight Chad Dawson fights at. Pacquiao just dominated Mosley, who at any time of his career, including now, would be a perfectly sensible opponent for Sergio Martinez, as Mosley has fought at 154. Terrible, terrible analogies. And you're telling Ciani to talk sense?

    Furthermore, Pacquiao started his career at 106. Even 10 years later at 126, I myself repeatedly thought it ridiculous for folks to throw out names like Ricky Hatton, Oscar De La Hoya, or Miguel Cotto. Compared to that leap in weight class, Sergio Martinez hardly sounds far fetched at all.

    And Martinez vs. Dawson? Sounds like a pretty interesting match up to be honest with you.

    Conclusion: I'll keep my conclusions to myself. This one's too easy, and might come out the wrong way.
