Jeez! This guy started professional (not amateur) boxing in the 106 lbs division! What's next, why he fought Wlad at a catchweight of 200 lbs and not 203?

The SMALLER man asking the bigger guy to come down a few pounds below the limit for a fight and you call that catchweight comedy?

What do you call then when you are the BIGGER GUY and ask someone for a catchweight by asking the SMALLER fighter to go TWO divisions higher?

Yeah I agree...all he does is talk about what Pacquiao has done recently with the catchweights in his recent fights. He never mentions how good he was and has been in the early part of his career at the lower weights.
Man...Its a good thing no-one does that about Floyd Jr's resume. OH WAIT...:-(

When did the bigger guy ask someone for a catchweight?

The bigger guy wanted it at 147 pounds. It was Oscar who stepped in and wanted to make it fairer. So please don't lie.

That was the Hoya fight where all the elements of the fight was oscar's. Pac never had anything to do with the weights, purse, etc.

Hoya was the one who proposed the 147 pound which is probably logical as he would be going 1 division down, Pac is going 2 (or 3) divisions up.

Now, I am talking of the Cotto fight.

I am sure that if Hoya asked for a junior middleweight limit then the fight would never have happened. Afterall, Pac never fought past 135 pounds with the only one fight he had at 135 was against David Diaz.

Why do I need to explain everything to a poster who can not even make an original handle? That is an insult to Bladerunner, a respected poster in ESB. What, a ***** version of Bladerunner, with the R changed to G for Gay? You did not even get the part where the Bigger Guy asked for a catchweight? Let me enlighten you-

Once upon a time, there was this welterweight who had been campaigning in the division for so long or about 5 years. He decided to become a hermit and went to the woods to disappear completely from the sport he loves.

However, he encountered financial difficulties and big Sam came knocking at his door for unpaid taxes that he decided that the woods no longer suited him.

(This is the part where the BIGGER GUY asked the smaller guy for a catchweight)

He looked far and wide for a fighter who would challenge his skills in ducking. He looked at the Mexican but he was so big that it caused him to tremble and run to his much reliable Ellerbe. Then he looked at the emerging hero from the east but he realized that it was a dangerours fight. He looked further and he saw an aging, small fighter whose claim to glory was giving the emerging hero a difficult fight. There, he decided that that was the fighter worthy to test his mettle.

But he was much bigger than the poor fellow and so he asked the poor fellow to go 2 divisions higher while he would just go 3 pounds lower.

Then the people (*****s) started rejoicing and proclaiming that finally their hero is meeting the pound for pound number 2, intentionally forgetting that the poor feloow should not even be fighting in that division.

I got to admit that roger is a comical guy even if he's trying to be serious.

If anything, pac's first lost was at a catchweight of 111lbs against Torrecampo but he reported 1 lbs over the weight limit during the weigh in at 112 so he was penalized to use the heavier gloves. I think that's the first time he fought at a catchweight and he's now getting the hang of it. :yep
