You have to be able to fight a little bit to effectively pressure a guy like Jones. Jones fought so many turds, it ain't funny.

Did the cop that fought Jones pressure tactics work?.. no. Did Griffin's.. yeah for almost all the fight. Did Johnson's.. a, yeah.

    Almost all the fight?

How did you have that fight scored, before Jones got DQd, whillst about to knock Griffin out?

Jones was down on one of the official scorecards and the other 2 were within 2 points I believe. It was a close fight.

Indeed Rico, fighters have off nights the same as anybody.

Griffin was a good fighter and he could take advantage of Jones performing poorly, that is hardly laying a blueprint on how to beat him.

I agree that Griffin was a good fighter and one of the few legit opponents that Jones fought at the time. Jones deserves full credit for what he did in the rematch.

I'd have to watch it again to score it, but I remember having Griffin well ahead. Griffin started to slow down though, and it cost him. Griffin was decent, but he was no Johnson or Calzaghe. Those guys would have never slowed down, and that'd been the difference.

Everybody who fought Roy tried to fight in an aggressive mannor. The reason that Griffin had some success is that Jones had an off night.

Jones loosing 4 rounds or whatever is not the blueprint on how to beat him. He had an off night, this was emphised in the rematch where Jones destroyed him in one round.

Everytime Calzaghe has looked crap have his oponents "laid the blueprint" on how to beat him?

it was a close, but clear fight for roy. the problem is the standards were so high for him that if he even lost 2 or 3 rounds it was an upset. with the knockdown he was well ahead and griffin wouldn't have made it out of the next round. he got dq'd, fair and square but let's not blow the griffin performance out of proportion

Hopkins of 43 KO 5 Hopkins of 30. Sure, he's boring as ****, but he's better than ever -- accept it. Roy Jones was good, but would've lost to Tarver, Johnson, and calzaghe at any point in his career. Lacy was a monster 'til Joe ****ed his head up. Kessler will prove to be God-like. ****, Roid even said Eubanks was good.

as for glass jaw i voted no and much like roy's career is hard to prove or disprove. Were the people he fought jokes beforehand or did he just manhandle them so badly they became so afterwards? Did he fight decent punchers and just never get hit? Did he get hit but take it well and dominate them so badly we forgot about it? For someone who didn't get even hurt til he was well on the slide and past it, I say he's got a pretty good chin. The very best and toughest of the past sometimes and often did, get hurt when they were shot. We can look at ezzard charles: after the second rocky fight he was MUCH easier to hurt and knockdown and though he was never knocked out cold his chin was hardly sturdy. Roy Jones post Ruiz was not the same as before and his chin then should not be used as the measuring stick
