This. Roy's talent was incredible, and I think he would have beaten anybody in and around those weight classes between 94-01. It's just that he chose not to fight them to protect his marketablity, like somebody who is universally shafted on this forum. :rasta

    a boring fight ...against Toney.

He played litterally with Toney for at least 10 Rounds....come on...remember the thrird round

He schooled him with so much fashion

And he beat Hopkins with one hand

ROY JONES JR was the best P4P from 1994 to 2003.

Nobody was close..not even De LaHOya and Trinidad

the fighter of the decade in the 90s has plenty legacy. can you imagine if calzaghe had moved up to heavyweight and beat ruiz for a belt? i can't either. :) jones gets hardly any credit for dominating that fight.

i just think circumstances prevented them fights.

d-man - earning well in germany. not a big name in america. don't think the US networks over aired any of his fights.

benn - promotional and network issues.

eubank - busy with his bum a month tour.

toney - ate his way out of contention and jones beat griffin easy enough.

hopkins - waited for the oscar payday and sat on his middleweight titles.

nunn - lost to toney and beaten again around the time jones went to super middle.

Nigel Benn had ONE notable win at Super Middleweight. Michaelscheski had ZERO notable wins over anyone that Jones hadnt beat himself. If Jones has no legacy from 160-Heavyweight, than NO fighter in the last 20 years has a legacy at those weights. People blow up the relevance of those guys at the time Roy supposedly ducked them, as much as they to pick Roys record apart and trash him as a fighter.

RJJ did not have the best jaw....but his highlights are bar none. He has accomplished some of the most amazing feats in the ring ever seen in boxing. IMO he is an ATG.
