His first 34 fights? 34 victories.

Then, he gets one lose against Montell Griffin, only because he got disqualified, so no true loss. But in his rematch with Montell Griffin, he knocked him out in round 1.

After his disqualification and succesfull rematch with Montell Griffin, he won further 13 matches.

Then, age caught up with him and his next 13 fights consisted of 7 losses (including a loss to Calzaghe) and 6 victories...

He's still brave and going, but shouldn't he retire now? He will lose against Dawid Kostecki. His record will worsen. He was a great fighter, but his time is up. His heart for the sport is impressive, but for now, he should just look proudly back on his career...

Yes he should retire, but at this point in Roy's career, any losses won't harm his legacy, any wins will enhance it. But he's risking much more by continuing, his health, no-one wants to see him go the way of others who continued too long. The commissions shouldn't be licencing him to fight, but where there's money to be made, unfortunately people will sign and allow anything...

Roy Jones mentally folded the first time an opponent managed to push him to his limits and that's why he hit Griffin while down.

He had Griffin down twice, and the 2nd time he was ready to go.

Roy Jones is just the best, lol.

  8. Roy was an amazing talent

but he was born a bit too late in that he missed out on

    Prime Eubank Prime Benn etc

Not saying Prime Eubank or Benn would have beaten Roy at 168

but I can guarantee he wont be doing no ****ing Bola dingo punches against a Prime Nigel Benn

I think even a past prime Benn in the mid 90's will give him some issues.

Jones in his career was called a ducker. Which he never was. Jones was always willing to take on anyone. The thing is in his prime fighters didn't really want to fight him.

Critics will just always find a reason to hate on succesfull boxers, instead of being grateful for their contribution to the sport.

He bought on his first loss himself, when he hit Griffin while downed because he couldn't control his roid rage.

Yes. Taking steroids yet be allowed to get away scott free with no punishment set a great precedent and made the world a better place for future generations of boxers.

True, but that was more based on... well... stupidity. Lack of control. But not lack of superiorty :D

It's a helluva lot easier to dominate if you're allowed to take whatever drugs you like to improve your performance.

His career, like anyone else who tested positive for drugs, is tainted in my eyes.
