How about the Spider, if we're talking silly beefs carried out in the public eye? That one is far more overdue for some violent closure.

Calzaghe really did toy with him didn't he, he Roy Jonse'd Roy Jones. Prime Joe would break a lot of American hearts if they met a few years earlier, he was Jones Kryptonite imo

Roy might keep fighting until he is banned from the sport. I remember when he said he would not fight late in his career.

As I have said many times now.

    Roy needs to retire

He is damaging his legacy with every fight he has and with his physical state now, there is a concern for his health.

    Hang them up champ

Not anymore, but that's why he kept fighting though.
And he still owes the IRS as far as I know.

If he's going to do it, a fellow random old guy who fought twice a long time ago seems acceptable. Still unfortunate.

It’s mostly due to debt and bad investments. I’ve known quite a few professional fighters and professional athletes and they tend to have a bad habit of taking advances and not paying bills. Also, I highly doubt Jones ever took home 80-100 million. That was what he earned in purses, but what he actually took home was considerably less. It also doesn’t help that Jones like most fighters aren’t the sharpest tools in the shed.

Even Floyd doesn’t have much money in reality due to him owing so many people money. After both Maidana fights most of Mayweather’s cut of the purse was garnished as was a significant amount of his cut from the McGregor fight in order to pay debts he owed as well as back taxes. My Friend Terry Ward collected $250,000 from Floyd off a garnishment, since he built two cars for Floyd, but Floyd never paid him, so he got a judgement against Floyd and a default one at that, since Floyd no showed the hearing.

If you go to a local courthouse in Sarasota, Florida or in Los Angeles, California you’ll also see that Roy Jones also has a lot of judgements against him. For a short time when I worked a summer job in Florida I remember Jones being fined $100,000 for having Dogs and Roosters fight at his property. Roy was actually dumb enough to film himself fighting dogs and taking money from spectators despite knowing that it was illegal.
