In my lifetime he is the best I've seen.

Even if he tried to rise through the ranks to HW and go back down to LHW.

I can't think of a more exciting and complete fighter.

    what are the arguments against?

his resume lacking and steroid abuse? I agree with you though Roy jones in his prime was amazing, and definitely the most athletically gifted boxer ever.

Every serious fighter has done steroids, chists I even did it at 16 to play rugby, I'm talking about talent and the sweet science, i've never seen a guy move, finish and throw punches from impossible situations, it's like he is a professor of skills. a model of boxing.

    But yeah ROIDS are bad.

Roy should of stayed at heavy and let Tarver move up. That was the beginning of the end. He shold of weighed the pros and cons of beating another heavyweight or beating Tarver at light heavy weight in a division he ruled for ten years. I know Tarver got under his skin but Roy should of been way past that in his career.

    Really?

And those roids contributed to those skills, but I agree, what the man did in the ring was amazing.

Pity it's tainted, like getting the best blowjob in history only to find afterwards it's a tranny.

A Roy Jones totally shot put Calzaghe in big trouble in the first round of their fight in 2008.

Jones has no legs and no refrexes since 2004.

Can you imagine the same fight in 2000 ??

Btw i have never seen a fast right hand like Jones has landed in 1999 against Reggie Johnson (second knockdown)

Go on youtube and watch it.

Johnson said after the fight that this right hand was like a lightning .

Most people think that but imo if he retired after the 1st tarver fight he'd be undefeated excluding that DQ loss. This guy would have had one serious resume that would have people talking about him in top 10-15 atg. I for one don't think his resume is lacking, its very obvious that move to heavyweight and then cutting back hurt him.

Easily the best fighter since Ray Leonard. Super human athletic qualities with an underrated ring IQ. Wish he hadn't fallen off a cliff towards the end, but he's still an ATG...Definitely top 10 in my book.

If he'd retired after the Ruiz fight, or even Tarver 1, this forum would be filled with RJJ VS SRR threads, most of us considered him Superman.
Any word about him fighting again?
